Hoaki Design, Create, Thrill: The Power of Graphic

Book SynopsisIn this book, the author presents the perspectives of several authors and designers on how to achieve an emotional graphic design. Even though they are not absolute truths and there is no guarantee that if a designer follows those principles people will be emotional attached to the work, they will certainly bring them closer to that. Emotional design is a design that reflects on the crucial role emotions have in the human ability to understand the world, promising to enhance the quality of life of its audience. A successful emotion-driven design improves the relationship between the audience and the ‘product’, creating deep emotional bounds between the two. There are already many theories talking about emotional design in product design, industrial design, and even web design. But what about graphic design? This book aims to bring the graphic designer closer to delivering an emotion-driven design.

The history of the company is retraced in these pages from an unusual point of view, entrusted almost exclusively to images: those of Peroni’s Historical Archive – dedicated to factories, advertising communication and the consumer community – which are accompanied by the shots of five young photographers from the European Institute of Design, who offered their personal reading of the brand. The result is a composite and varied visual story of how Birra Peroni was and is seen and perceived from the outside and from others, through history and today. Text in English and Italian.

  • Branding Books Across the Ages: Strategies and

Amsterdam University Press Branding Books Across the Ages: Strategies and

    Out of stock

Book SynopsisFor many, literature and marketing are considered opposite phenomena. This book discusses cases in which the two are closely connected. It argues that literature is subject to the same mechanisms as other commercial products: our experience of literary texts is prefigured by brands, trademarks that identify a product and differentiate it from its competitors. From the early modern period onwards, literary authors and their texts are constantly ‘branded’ and have been both the object and the trailblazer of a complex marketing process. The authors of this volume analyze this branding process throughout the centuries, focusing on the Netherlands. To what extent is our experience of Dutch literature prefigured by brands, and what role does branding play when introducing European authors in the Dutch literary field (or vice versa)? By answering these questions, Branding Books Across the Ages seeks to show how literary scholars understand branding – a phenomenon that has long been intertwined with literature.Trade Review"Branding books across the ages is een uiterst gevarieerde, naar zijn aard heterogene, maar bijna steeds onderhoudende en dikwijls grondige analyse van literaire casuïstiek. Out of stock

Book SynopsisBrands and branding have deep historical roots. Almost anything or anyone can be branded with a name or mark for commercial or other purposes. The act of branding initiates activities in a brand ecosystem among people and organizations who have a vested interest in the brand's value. Unfortunately, a brand may experience a tragedy that can put its value and equity at risk. Pundits will often conclude there is a primary reason for a specific brand's tragedy, however, studying the situation more deeply can reveal tragic flaws in response to brand-challenging experiences that enhance managerial wisdom. The purpose of the book is to examine the backstories of a selection of relatively well-known brands that have experienced a tragedy. The objective is to inform how and why some brands survived and some did not. Doing so, may help leaders and managers of current brands avoid the miscues that lead to brand tragedies and possibly revive a brand when tragedy strikes. It is a book for those who need to improve their understanding of the vital importance of a brand for organizational success and who want to build and manage their brands to continuously improve value for customers, employees, shareholders, and the well-being of society. While there will be no one right approach or silver bullet to avert or ameliorate a specific tragedy, the better prepared leaders and managers are for a brand tragedy, the greater the likelihood of avoiding one and realizing an expedient and constructive outcome when one occurs.

  • New Consumer Behavior Theories from Japan

Springer Verlag, Singapore New Consumer Behavior Theories from Japan

    Out of stock

Book SynopsisThis book focuses on a new type of inclusive consumer decision-making process model (CDM) related to new leading-edge consumers. There have been two main types of CDMs for consumer behavior: one is the stimulus–response model and the other is the information-processing model. The stimulus–response model is applicable when consumers buy low-involvement products, and the information-processing model applies for high-involvement products. Thus consumers’ decision making depends on the involvement level for the products. With the advent of the widespread use of the Internet, however, the situation has changed. Consumers whose information sensitivity is high (i.e., among leading-edge consumers) now use the Internet to search for information even for low-involvement products. The consumers’ decision-making process depends therefore on their information sensitivity, not on the involvement level of the products. Also, these leading-edge consumers become in effect another type of media as they broaden their experience through the Internet. Under these circumstances, research about leading-edge consumers and the introduction of a new CDM is highly significant. This book gathers data about leading-edge consumers, analyzes these data, then proposes a new type of CDM called “circulation marketing”. Following this model, not only the previous types of CDM, but also the new kind of CDM, including share behavior of leading-edge consumers, is explained.Table of Contents
