Developed and formatted for quick and easy reference on the go—use with patients in a clinical setting or anywhere you need to get access to the information you need! Focuses on common, everyday issues such as nerve damage and neuropathy, arthritis, fractures and trauma, and otherTrade Review“This is an interesting little book, written as part of the expanding PocketNotebook series now covering several specialties, and is presented in ringbinder format, with hard covers designed to stand up to the rigors of beingpulled in and out of residents' pockets frequently while working on the wardsand inpatient and outpatient settings. The purpose is to reflect current approaches to the diagnosis and treatment of anumber of common and more complex foot and ankle conditions. Pocket referencesin any specialty are always going to be a useful addition and be of value tothose in postgraduate training programs. For the most part, the objectives aremet. The limitation with any book of this size is deciding what to include andwhat to leave out. Overall, this one does a comprehensive job.The book is clearly aimed at those in training, and most specifically will be ofuse to podiatric residents and fellows in the U.S., but possibly to students, too. Overall, the contributors seem to be mostly clinical and either in training themselves orinvolved in postgraduate training, but there is a good balance of contributionsfrom both orthopedic and podiatric perspectives, which is encouraging to see.The best feature of this book is its practical design. It is easy to access theinformation it contains and it will stand up to the abuses of three years ofpostgraduate residency training. The book is organized by either very broad orvery specific topics pertinent to clinical podiatry. Each section is welloutlined and numbered at the top of each page. The weaknesses are several. There is no use of color plates, which would have been useful for thedermatology section, but would no doubt adversely affect cost. There are someareas that are not mentioned, in particular peripheral vascular disease (botharterial and venous).”Weighted Numerical Score: 76 - 3 StarsDoodys Publishers' Club, July 2018

Book SynopsisThis is a uniquely helpful and accessible guide to taking control of your own foot health by holistic heath innovator Yamuna Zake. We don’t need doctors, orthotics or even surgery to relieve common foot problems, such as plantar fasciitis, bunions, neuromas, arthritis, hammertoes, and flat feet. By learning a correct gait that uses the entire foot to distribute weight, we can relieve and prevent common foot problems without any medical intervention. The book offers an easy-to-follow 4-week program of routines that take just 15 minutes a day during the program and allows readers to fix their feet and take ownership of their body. Each of the four weeks focuses on a different part of the foot: the heel, the arch, the ball and the toes. There are 3–4 exercises in each section and readers try them all and can choose to focus on those exercises in each section that they enjoy most. This programme is then supported with mindful foot practices to ensure bad habits don't return. Six common foot problems are also explored, including their causes (specific incorrect walking patterns) and ways of preventing and relieving them (exercises plus mindful practices). You won’t find any medical concepts or terminology in this book, nor do you need to learn complicated foot anatomy. The whole program is based on what you already know: walking. You’ll learn how to walk and stand correctly and to use every part of your feet as nature intended. That’s all you need to do!Trade Review"Women everywhere need to read The Foot Fix ... Literally this book is a game changer." — Charlotte Tilbury
