Taschen GmbH Tom of Finland. The Complete Kake Comics
Book SynopsisIn 1965, Tom of Finland began flirting with the idea of an ongoing character for his panel stories, the ultimate Tom’s Man. He tried out a blond named Vicky—a common male name in Finland—followed by a Tarzan-inspired Jack. Then in 1968 Tom settled on Kake, a dark-haired, mustached leatherman who often wore a tight white T-shirt bearing the motto “Fucker.” Kake lived up to this moniker, a sort of post-Stonewall, hyper-masculine Johnny Appleseed traveling the world on his motorcycle to spread the seeds of liberated, mutually satisfying, ecstatically explicit gay sex. Tom lived out many of his most personal fantasies through Kake, and Kake’s international fans made him the template for what came to be known as the gay clone look of the 1970s. Between 1968 and 1986, Tom published 26 episodes of Kake adventures, most as 20-page booklets.Tom of Finland – The Complete Kake Comics collects all of these stories in one volume. Return with Kake to the days when men were men, sex was carefree, and everyone wore a big thick mustache.Trade Review“Kake allows Tom to express all his fantasies. Sailors, lifeguards, cowboys, policemen… —all are invariably handsome, brawny, and enthusiastically gay when Kake comes along.” * Chicago Reader *“If you need proof that today’s revolutions are tomorrow’s institutions, look no further than Tom of Finland.” * The Village Voice *

Edition Skylight Erotic Sessions
Book SynopsisThe son of artist parents, Dahmane was born in Paris on 21 April 1959. His father was a painter and engraver, and his mother a poet and painter. Dahmane became familiar with photography at an early age, being first introduced to it by his grandmother and a photographer friend of his parents. At 15 he began to develop a consuming interest in nude photography, gathering his first experience with two classmates from secondary school, who modelled for him. His predilection for black and white photography has continued into the Millennium; the medium allows him to refine and develop his technique as part of an on-going process. He quickly learned that Leica lenses give you the best results, and for this reason, prefers Leica SLRs and enlargers. Dahmane published his first work before he was 20, including an extensive reportage on the suffering of animals in zoos. At the same time, he worked as a freelance portrait photographer for a range of French magazines, including LExpansion, Capital, LExpress, Le Figaro, VSD, Closer, LUsine Nouvelle and others. Several volumes of his nudes have been released, including Dahmane (bags), Dressed Nudes (Futami-Shobo), Dressed Nudes (Edition Skylight and La Musardine), Erotic Sessions (Edition Skylight and La Musardine) and Addicted to Nudes (Edition Skylight and La Musardine). His nude works have been published all over the world and exhibited in London, Paris, Rome and Los Angeles, among other places. Dahmane still lives in Paris, and continues to devote himself to photographing female nudes and doing portraits. He is represented by the Claude Lemand Gallery.

Book SynopsisGoddesses of sex and light, fully owning their own bodies and sexuality with innate empowerment. This is how photographer Elizabeth Waterman describes the female adult entertainers featured in Candyland, a series of colorful and vibrant portraits designed to capture the unique personalities of the subjects. The actresses were very much a part of the creative process, adding their own ideas to create playful images celebrating their individual beauty and charisma. Waterman's previous book, Moneygame, an acclaimed photographic depiction of the world of strip clubs across the USA, inspired her to invite some of America's leading porn stars to take part in a project which reflects them through a female lens, shot against vibrant, sunlit Southern Californian settings. I liked showing them in deliciousness, excess, and fun and glory, said Waterman. The porn stars that I photographed were happy to be doing what they were doing, they loved having sex and they were good at it.

Edition Reuss Naked Girls with Small Breasts
Book SynopsisIn the era dominated by very big breasts, the book you are holding is a miracle. It is the result of a long and tenacious work, made in an unquenched quest for beauty and mammal shapes. Dave Naz is a natural small breasts enthusiast. In history of art, it was not only the Spanish writer and poet Roman Gomez de la Serna who asked himself: why have some women such little breasts? Amazons breasts, for instance, always raised a lot of questions. In the Middle Ages, paintings of the Virgin Mary often showed the Madonna with a very small bulging breast, a symbol of her beauty. Until the 17th century or so, western painting glorified womens physique with breasts like Reinette apples, always highlighted by low-cuts. White, small and spherical breasts were considered as the criteria number one to seduce. These breasts, said to be perfect, were actually called tits in the courteous tongue, an allusion to their smallness. Yet, etymologically, the word breast does not necessarily indicate anything big. On the contrary, the term comes from old Saxon briost, meaning bud. These photographs celebrate with passion the amazing diversity of small breasts. There is no pair like another. Each woman has a unique and original one. Conclusion: Women with small breasts can be beautiful and very erotic.

Taschen GmbH Dian Hanson’s: The History of Men’s Magazines.
Book SynopsisIn the late 1960s specialty bookstores selling magazines under the counter were replaced by sex shops, or “adult bookstores” in the U.S., at which point every subject, with few exceptions, was freely available. It started with Swedish Private and its shockingly explicit covers. Denmark’s Theander brothers countered with Rodox and Color Climax, with equally explicit content. Soon they were supplying most of Northern Europe, with the Netherlands pitching in. In the U.S. Reuben Sturman was hailed King of Porn, with affiliates churning out hardcore of every kind to fill his 800 bookstores. Suddenly men used to taking what was offered could be picky. Lesbian dominance? Hot housewives? Black and Asian women? Hippie nudists espousing free love and drug use? Hairy women? Shaved women? Shaved women giving hairy women enemas? It was all there. For the kinky, every fetish was represented: spanking titles Zap and Smack cuddled up to dominance titles Bitch and Aggressive Gals, and to Wet Dreams, Diapered and Dominated and Enema Pick ups. For rubberists there was quirky Atomage, and even quirkier Belly Button. Yes, Belly Button. Are you familiar with the name Edw. Wood, Jr., called the world’s worst film director? Then you’ll enjoy his little-known porn magazines, including Balling, Skin & Bones and Party Time. What a decade. Warning: everything in this volume is uncensored and for mature adults only. The photos do not represent the majority. Volume 6 features over 600 covers and photos from Sweden, Denmark, the Netherlands, and the U.S. with the usual, amusing text.Trade Review“…approaches men’s magazines with a historical lens and also tracks the wider societal changes alongside their evolution.” * creativereview.co.uk *“[An] impressive six-volume collection…” * monocle.com *

Taschen GmbH Dian Hanson’s: The History of Men’s Magazines.
Book SynopsisThe first commercial camera was introduced in 1839. By 1865 technology enabled ordinary men to create photographic negatives, and they immediately began taking and distributing photos of naked women. The French led the way, and it was the French who produced the first nude magazines in 1880, as souvenirs for patrons of Parisian music halls. Newsstand magazines followed, and the elegant La Vie Parisienne (Paris Life), full of sexy fiction and illustrations, debuted in 1914. It might all have stayed in Paris if not for WWI, when German and American troops carried the magazines home. American Wilford Fawcett launched Capt. Billy’s Whiz Bang (named after a WWI bomb) in 1919, helping launch the first sexual revolution of the 1920s, leading to SEX magazine from birth control pioneer Margaret Sanger. Decadent Weimar Berlin produced cabaret, fetish and free love magazines, countered by nudist titles pushing fascist politics, culminating in the 1933 Berlin book burning. The 1930s economic depression boosted demand for cheap escape, and men’s magazines delivered. There were film magazines of sexy starlets; “model study” art magazines; hardcore comics called Tijuana Bibles; “spicy” fiction digests with sexy painted covers; and detective titles of bad dames. When another world war erupted it required pinup magazines for fighting men, and after the war new men’s magazines rose from the ashes. Volume 1 of this series features over 700 covers and photos from France, Germany, the U.S., England, Turkey, Austria, Spain, Argentina and more, plus informative text.Trade Review“[An] impressive six-volume collection…” * monocle.com *“Hubba hubba! Taschen GmbH Erotica Universalis
Book SynopsisFrom the dawn of time, ever since Adam and Eve, all artists of every age—whether the Egyptian, Greek, or Roman artists of Antiquity, or more recent famous names such as Rembrandt, Courbet, Degas, or Picasso—have succumbed to their fantasies, obsessions, and libido and produced erotic works that the censors have taken good care to keep from the public. For Erotica Universalis, we surface from the subterranean realms of the museums to enter those of our national and private libraries. Here we discover that not only most of our famous writers, such as Ovid, Aretino, Voltaire, Verlaine, or Maupassant, wrote erotic texts that bordered on indecency, but also that great artists like Boucher, Fragonard, Dalí, or Matisse were inspired to provide suitable illustrations for these naughty books. For this new hardcover edition of the classic 1995 best seller, we have culled highlights from our Erotica Universalis collection.Trade Review“Icons—from Egypt’s Golden Empire to present day—with a knack for translating sexual fantasies into master works of art.” * The Huffington Post *“…it’s possibly the only place you’ll see Rembrandt alongside Robert Crumb, and expert editing means the collection never strays into the predictable Erotic Print Society territory.” * Arena *“It's tasteful in an arty kind of way, which means you won't have to endure red-hot cheeks at the checkout counter. Taschen GmbH Dian Hanson’s: The History of Men’s Magazines.
Book SynopsisSexual revolution, civil rights, Flower Power, miniskirt, women’s liberation, The Pill, Black Panthers, hippies; all these words and phrases entered our language in the turbulent 1960s. The decade started as an extension of the domestic ’50s and ended with worldwide chaos as baby boomers reached sexual maturity. What a fun decade for men’s magazines. While Playboy’s world dominance grew, with France, Germany, England, and Italy producing “men’s lifestyle” titles, diversification spread in the U.S. The first big breast magazines debuted, with Fling, Gem and The Swinger; men’s adventure titles – with nudes – provided nostalgia for mid-life veterans; humor magazines hung on – barely – while hippie nudist titles exploited a legal loophole allowing them to show pubic hair. Italy finally joined the party with sexy fumetto photo comics and a hero named Supersex. Latin America clung to the old burlesque format, mired in religious restriction and political unrest. France retained post-war favorite Folies de Paris et de Hollywood for an older audience and launched elegant Playboy clone LUI for its sons. While the world donned miniskirts England did England, reveling in bloomer and petticoat fetishism with Spick and Span digests. But no one topped Germany, where Ulrike Meinhof edited Konkret in 1969, a magazine of sexual and political revolution, before forming Red Army Fraction with Andreas Baader to bomb, kidnap, and assassinate her way into domestic terror history. Volume 3 contains over 650 groovy covers and photos from Argentina, England, France, Germany, Italy, and The U.S., plus text.Trade Review“…approaches men’s magazines with a historical lens and also tracks the wider societal changes alongside their evolution.” * creativereview.co.uk *“[An] impressive six-volume collection…” * monocle.com *
