Viverealtrimenti Ltd Care for Creation: An Islamic Perspective
Book SynopsisThe Greek Philosopher Plato (428 348 BC) wonders over the beauty in nature and dare to ask what is the source of this beauty. Asking this question, his philosophical journey started. Then, he discovered that the source of the beauty we observe in nature is beyond what is visible.Muslim Sufi masters, with the guidance of the Qur'an, see all beauty in heavens and on the earth as a reflection of Divine beauty.Let me remind you how the first chapter of the Qur'an, al-Fatiha (the Opening) presents both Allah and the universe to us: ALL PRAISE is due to God alone, the Sustainer of all the worlds. In this instance, the term worlds denotes all categories of existence both in the physical and the spiritual sense. Moreover, the Arabic word rabbi l-'alamin that we can render as Sustainer embraces a wide complex of meanings not easily expressed by a single term in another language. It comprises the ideas of having a just claim to the possession of anything and, consequently, authority over it, as well as of rearing, sustaining and fostering anything from its inception to its completion.

Transcript Verlag Prayer in the City: The Making of Muslim Sacred
Book SynopsisThis volume envisions social practices surrounding mosques, shrines and public spaces in urban contexts as a window on the diverse ways in which Muslims in different regional and historical settings imagine, experience, and inhabit places and spaces as "sacred". Unlike most studies on Muslim communities, this volume focuses on cultural, material and sensuous practices and urban everyday experience. Drawing on a range of analytical perspectives, the contributions examine spatial practices in Muslim societies from an interdisciplinary perspective, an approach which has been widely neglected both in Islamic studies and social sciences.

Transcript Verlag Debating Islam: Negotiating Religion, Europe, and
Book SynopsisConspicuously, Islam has become a key concern in most European societies with respect to issues of immigration, integration, identity, values and inland security. As the mere presence of Muslim minorities fails to explain these debates convincingly, new questions need to be asked: How did "Islam" become a topic? Who takes part in the debates? How do these debates influence both individual as well as collective "self-images" and "image of others"? Introducing Switzerland as an under-researched object of study to the academic discourse on Islam in Europe, this volume offers a fresh perspective on the objective by putting recent case studies from diverse national contexts into comparative perspective.

Kopernik Rethinking Hadith Methodolog
Book SynopsisIn the early centuries of Islam, Muslim scholars developed countless scientific disciplines in attempting to classify, investigate, and utilise the hadiths and the sunnah of the Prophet Muhammad. As none of these sciences evolved into a fully-fledged hadith science, scholars began to implement the methodology of fiqh in examining the hadiths. After Imam al Shafii in the ninth century, hadiths were almost exclusively confined to the realm of legal studies. This new legalistic and literalist approach to the hadith created serious problems, primarily for two reasons, the Prophet did not intend that each of his words and utterances should form the basis of a legal system, and unlike the Quran, the Prophets statements were transmitted over generations and not always verbatim and therefore recorded hadiths could not be treated as immutable legal documents. The aim of this book is to demonstrate the necessity of creating a new hadith science.

Pentagon Press Interest Free System in Islam
Book SynopsisIslam calls for benevolence, mercy, kindness, peace and love in all walks of life, strata of society, creed or color. The economy, considered to be the backbone of society, is no exception nor are day-to-day activities pertaining to economic and financial matters. Here also, Islam insists on human welfare. Therefore, Islam strictly prohibits any kind of interest in any transaction, especially fees for lending money on specific terms. Similarly, investment in trade dealing with forbidden goods is considered contrary to the tenets of Islam and is not allowed under the no-interest system of Islamic economy. In the system, charging extra for dealing with mortgages, etc., is also not allowed. If a person borrows money against his property or a moveable assets, for instance, jewelry, he should not be charged extra. This and various other principles are at the core of the interest-free system of Islam. The present book is an initiative to add another pearl to the many books which are already available on this subject. Hopefully, it will be appreciated and welcomed in concerned circles.

Aspekt B.V., Uitgeverij Logic and Islam: Part 1 -- Faith Issues
Book SynopsisThroughout history, a believer did not need logical proof to believe in Almighty God. This is because the spiritual proof was always enough to admit the existence of Almighty God and to submit to Him. Finding Almighty God is not a mathematical equation that needs to be proven. Rather, it is a spiritual feeling due to a call from inside a human being. The relationship between Almighty God and humans is spiritual rather logical. However, with the advances in science and technology, this spiritual relationship decreases. Nowadays, modern man is looking for logic and scientific answers to many questions relating to Almighty God and religions. In fact, nonbelievers or atheists are not the only ones looking for answers to these types of questions; believers also want to increase their faith and remove doubts from their hearts. The main objective of this book is to provide logical answers to questions relating to belief in Almighty God, creations and Islam as the last heavenly religion. These questions are grouped under several topics, namely: 1) Almighty God, 2) the creation, 3) the soul, 4) the hereafter, 5) the destiny and freedom in choices, 6) the holy Quran and 7) the Islam. The main feature of this book is that the author provides logic flowcharts with each presented question relating to the different topics. Each logic flowchart has three phases: a start, a process and an end.
