Giorgio Nada Editore The Monza 1000km: 1965-2008

    7 in stock

Book SynopsisBetween 1965 and the Nineties, the 1000 Km of Monza-Filippo Caracciolo Trophy, was one of the most classical endurance races - a sort of 24 hours of Le Mans - and for many seasons was, rightfully, a round in the world championships for sports cars and prototypes. Top drivers and cars challenged each other on that historic Italian track and banking, the car makers including Porsche, Ferrari and Ford, bringing to life many unforgettable pages in the history of motor sport. Aldo Zana, prominent motor racing historian, tells this fabulous story, year after year, included the competitions held between 1995 and 2008. Every edition is enriched with starting grids and final placings. A huge work, never attempted since now, illustrated with outstanding pictures, many of them never before published.

  • Bologna-Raticosa: A Story of Men and Machinery

Giorgio Nada Editore Bologna-Raticosa: A Story of Men and Machinery

Book SynopsisA place of absolute significance during Italy's golden age of hillclimbing has to go to the Bologna-Raticosa. As well as the pioneering first event way back in 1926, the hillclimb was at its peak from 1950 until 1969. Its winners included Bracco, Cabianca, Palmieri, Castellotti, Govoni, Herrmann, Moioli or Noris, Ortner and Venturi. And the cars they drove included Ferraris, OSCAs, Maseratis and Abarths. So along its more than 43 km route - it was reduced to not much more than 32 km from 1962 - raced some of the greatest drivers of the period. Then, after a long silence, the Bologna made its comeback in 2001, first as an invitation race and then as a round in the Italian Vintage Car Speed Championship. The man who tells the story of this great classic is Carlo Dolcini, author of a number of books on the Mille Miglia, who covers again this historic event, and Francesco Amante, the tireless organiser and promoter of the most recent Bologna events. So for the first time, the entire story of the Bologna-Raticosa is told in a book that boasts a wealth of historic and modern illustrations as well as the complete results of the hillclimb.

  • Superbike 2017/2018: The Official Book

Giorgio Nada Editore Superbike 2017/2018: The Official Book

Book SynopsisThe 2017 championship is analysed by the authors of this classic official annual, first published with the purpose of informing the public of one of the most compelling and fascinating world championships. Among the new elements for this season is the starting grid of race two, which has been revolutionised in relation to the past, with the winner of the Saturday race obliged to start from ninth place. But the variation of the technical regulation is marginal, apart from the confirmation once more of the various other championships, which were tested over many seasons and reserved for the 1000 and 600 cc, the new entry of the small SuperSport 300 stands out. Apart from the authors telling the stories, there is the work of Fabrizio Porrozzi, one of the best photographers of the SBK World Championship.

  • Porsche: Gli Anni D'Oro/The Golden Years

Giorgio Nada Editore Porsche: Gli Anni D'Oro/The Golden Years

Book SynopsisIconic cars such as the 356's and the immortal 911's, extraordinary success stories in the classic endurance races, great champions and remarkable engineers. These are the principal ingredients of Porsche. The Golden Years, a book examining the full history of the legendary Stuttgart firm, with spectacular and previously unpublished images by the photographer Franco Villani. The Porsche 356 with both closed and open bodywork was the model that in 1948 officially inaugurated the catalogue of the celebrated Stuttgart firm. In that difficult period of reconstruction the Dr. Ferdinand Porsche, artificer of the car and founder of the marque, was already an undisputed authority in the automotive field for having designed the Volkswagen Beetle, the people's car. The Porsche 356's were "legitimate offspring" of the Beetle and soon found favour with the public: they were sporting cars that were easy to use in everyday life. This is the true Porsche "DNA", confirmed with the launch of the 901, or rather the 911 that first saw the light of day in 1963, a model that soon became a planetary success story, a car capable of traversing the decades while maintaining intact its appeal. The Porsche name also evokes the innumerable victories obtained in legendary endurance races such as the Le Mans 24 Hours and the Targa Florio, in the World Rally Championship and in the great African raids such as the Paris-Dakar, as well as in Formula 1 as an engine supplier to McLaren in the early `80s.

  • Vignale: Masterpieces of Style

Giorgio Nada Editore Vignale: Masterpieces of Style

    3 in stock

Book SynopsisThe history of Vignale, the coachbuilder that bodied the first unforgettable Ferraris of the 1950s – responsible for cars such as the 166 and 212 Inter, the 250 and the 340 MM – narrated through rare archive photos, many of which previously unpublished. The Masterpieces of Style series dedicated to the greats of Italian coachbuilding – including Zagato, Pininfarina Touring and Giugiaro – could hardly not have a title devoted to the Turinese atelier founded in 1946 by Alfredo Vignale. This book covers, model by model, the entire output of an illustrious marque that was at its peak in the Fifties and Sixties when, thanks above all to the extraordinary talent of Giovanni Michelotti, it produced numerous bodies for Ferrari chassis, along with diverse Fiats with special versions of the 500 and 600. Not to forget the various Lancias such as the Appia and the Flavia Convertible and the prolific collaboration with Triumph.

  • Formula One Portraits: The Sixties

Giorgio Nada Editore Formula One Portraits: The Sixties

Book SynopsisA collection of characters, drivers, champions and mechanics who animated Formula 1's glorious Sixties. In this unique book, the first of a series that decade by decade will review the history of motorsport's ultimate championship through to the 2000s, it is above all the portraits that speak, giving a face to men who have truly written the history of the blue ribbon series. All thanks to an incomparable repertoire of previously unpublished photos accompanied by texts by Gianni Cancellierii, one of the leading motorsport experts. 7 February 1960, Bruce McLaren wins the GP of Argentina at the wheel of a rear-engined Cooper that the year before had carried Jack Brabham to the World Championship title. This was the first great novelty of the decade: in order to be successful the cars had to have their engine behind the cockpit. Then, in 1961, came the 1.5-litre engines and even Ferrari followed the rear-engine trend. This was an epochal revolution. A decade was underway that would see great feats, great victories and great tragedies and of course great drivers of the calibre of Phil Hill, Jack Brabham, Jim Clark, John Surtees, Graham Hill, Denny Hulme, Jackie Stewart and many others. However, in this ""gallery of faces"" there are also designers, team managers, mechanics, women in the pits as well as the ever-varied world of the tifosi. Formula 1 Portraits is all this and more besides, an overview of motorsport's most important category, the book that should be on the shelves of every F1 connoisseur as well those of all the young neophytes approaching this enthralling world for the first time.

  • Lambreta Junior 50, 100, 125: History, models and

Giorgio Nada Editore Lambreta Junior 50, 100, 125: History, models and

Book SynopsisThe industrial and technical history of the Lambretta Junior series, told through invaluable archive materials. In the early Sixties, Innocenti took a technological leap in the engineering of the Lambretta, introducing for the first time a monocoque frame clearly inspired by its direct rival, Piaggio’s Vespa. This led to the birth of the Junior series, with models aimed at younger riders and with lower list prices than the traditional LI and TV versions. This new book devotes specific chapters to questions of production, technology, advertising, and many other areas of interest regarding this series of models that once again enjoyed notable success with the public.

Book SynopsisGiugiaro is one of the most prestigious names in the history of automotive design, synonymous with iconic cars such as the Alfa Romeo Giulia Sprint GT and Alfetta, the Volkswagen Golf, the Audi 80, the Fiat Panda, Uno and Punto, the Lancia Delta, Thema and Prisma and the Maserati Bora, Ghibli and Merak, to mention but a few of the most successful designs to carry the Giugiaro name. This monograph is a new updated edition of the 2019 volume Giugiaro Masterpieces of Style and includes the most recent creations, those born under the new GFG Style brand (Giorgetto & Fabrizio Giugiaro). Among these are the concepts Sibylla (2018), Kangaroo (2019), the GFG 2030, Desert Raid and Dora, all from 2020, up to the Bizzarrini Giotto from 2023.
