Red Flannel Publishing Dorset Dives
Book Synopsis50 of the best dive sites that Dorset has to offer. Here, there are so many opportunities to get wet and against one of the country's most beautiful backdrops - the Jurassic Coast. Seriously good scallop diving, sheltered, shallow and deep wrecks, scenic reefs, easy shore dives and daring drifts, all at a comfortable depth for recreational divers.Trade Review`This is an attractive book, a modern if much-simplified successor to the long-established but now out-of-print Dive Dorset. It covers generally well-known dives out of Swanage, Poole, Portland and Lyme Regis, either by hardboat or club RIB. It is bright and colourful, thanks to the generous supply of photos, mainly by Will Appleyard and Rob Roslyn. The topside shots are evocative of summer days in Dorset, while the underwater photographs are generally of good quality, though inevitably laced with a smattering of the green and backscattered. The descriptions of the 50 sites, of which about 60% are wrecks, are breezy, economical outlines. They are accompanied by concise notes on location, access, depth, things to look for and what to do if the dive is blown out (a feature that could get quite a lot of use). There are three helpful location maps at the start. This overview of Dorset dives has been well thought-out and produced, and is an easy read'- DIVER magazine.

New Village Press Building Commons and Community
Book SynopsisTrade Review""This is a must-read for those who are involved with community planning or design, but is also simply an enjoyable read for anyone interested in some remarkable stories of community building. There is a lot in this book that is inspirational and it seems that we are fortunate that Linn’s legacy will be felt not only through this book but in the many spaces he helped create and the people whose lives he touched along the way. One thing is quite clear; the world needs more people like Karl Linn."" -- Leszek Apouchtine * re:place Magazine *""Karl Linn's compassion, humanity and insight into what makes good community design - and what, in fact, makes community itself - is exactly what much of the world needs to develop if we are to evolve beyond our current frightful state of affairs. He saw the need for space and safety, beauty and joy in people's lives - especially the lives of poor children - and he filled it by the truckload. His was a quietly heroic life, lived close to the root of what really matters: an understanding that the happiness and peace we create for others is, delightfully, our own."" -- Alice Walker * author of The Color Purple *
