Springer Fachmedien Wiesbaden Zukunft smarte Kommune: Modellentwurf, Vorgehen
Table of ContentsGegenstandsbereich der empirischen Untersuchung.- Basisinterviewleitfaden der Expertengruppe Bürgermeister.- Basisinterviewleitfaden der Expertengruppe Verwaltungsmitarbeiterinnen.- Anonymisiertes Rekrutierungsschreiben.- Hierarchisches Kategoriensystem.- Thesen der Gruppendiskussion.- Anonymisierte Protokolle und Berichte zu Gemeinderatssitzungen.- Anonymisiertes Fotoprotokoll zum Zukunftsforum der mittelgroßen Gemeinde E.- Post-Interview-Memo zum Interview mit BGMI.- Kategorienlandkarte.- Häufigkeitsanalyse: Kodierungen aller Kategorien über alle Dokumente.- Häufigkeitsanalyse: kodierte Kategorien pro Dokument.- Durchschnitt von Kodierungen.

Table of ContentsEinleitung.- Lern- Und Bildungsprozesse.- Übergänge Und Transitionen.- Elternschaft.- Methodik.- Interviewanalysen.- Übergreifende Soziale Und Gesellschaftliche Ergebnisse.- Lern- Und Bildungsprozesse Beim Übergang In Die Elternschaft.- Vorschlag Zur Theoretischen Weiterentwicklung Und Der Veralltäglichung Von Lern- Und .- Bildungsprozessen.- Zusammenführende Erkenntnisse.- Zusammenführende Erkenntnisse.

Springer Verlag, Singapore Resilience and Sustainability in Urban Africa:
Book SynopsisResilience has become a very topical issue transcending many spheres and sectors of sustainable urban development. This book presents a resilience framework for sustainable cities and towns in Africa. The rise in informal settlements is due to the urban planning practices in most African cities that rarely reflect the realities of urban life and environment for urban development. Aspects of places, people and process are central to the concept of urban resilience and sustainable urban growth. It stems from the observation that urban vulnerability is on the increase in Zimbabwe and beyond. In history, disasters have adversely affected nations across the world, inflicting wide ranging losses on one hand while on the other hand creating development opportunities for urban communities. Cooperation in disaster management is a strategy for minimising losses and uplifting the affected urban settlements. The significance of urban planning and design in the growth and development of sustainable urban centres is well documented. Urbanisation has brought with it challenges that most developing countries such as Zimbabwe are not equipped to handle. This has been accompanied by problems such as overpopulation, overcrowding, shortages of resources and the growth of slum settlements. There need is to seriously consider urban planning and design in order to come up with contemporary designs that are resilient to current urban challenges. There are major gaps in urban resilience building for instance in Harare and the local authority needs to prioritise investment in resilient urban infrastructure. Springer Verlag, Singapore Civic Engagement in Asia: Transformative Learning
Book SynopsisThis book confronts issues relating to climate change and sustainable development innovations in Asia, with attention to key issues and applications in terms of advocacy, governance, citizen science, tradition, faith, leadership, and education. With contributions by 31 leading thinkers from countries in Asia, the book presents issues and poses potential solutions for sustainable development, responding to questions relating to problems prioritized by non-state actors for civic engagement. Book SynopsisThis book explores the public acceptability of congestion pricing in the Chinese context. Successful in western cities, notably London, congestion pricing has overcome vested interests to revitalize city centers and reduce pollution. Given the radically different nature of China's culture and political system, the author articulates why public acceptability should be an issue and how it will look in an authoritarian context. Based on stakeholder interviews, focus groups and an attitudinal survey, this book will interest policymakers, planners, and scholars of transport governance.Table of ContentsChapter 1: Introduction.- Chapter 2: Observations from the Literature.- Chapter 3: Research Design and Methodology.- Chapter 4: Acceptability in the Chinese Context: Exploratory Interviews.- Chapter 5: The Complex Nature of Public Acceptability of Congestion Charging: What Should Be Considered in the Chinese Context?.- Chapter 6: Results of the Quantitative Analysis.- Chapter 7: Discussion: Authoritarian Public Accessibility.- Chapter 8: Conclusion and Recommendations.

Taylor & Francis Place Policy and Politics
Book SynopsisThe past ten years have seen local government in the UK facing two major challenges: to survive in the face of Thatcher government hostility, and to adapt to enormously powerful forces of economic restructuring which have also been encouraged by government policies. The key aspects of these changing fortunes of British towns explored in this important new book is the ability of individual localities to exercise any control over their own growth and decline. Place, Policy and Politics examines local political initiatives seeking to influence economic and social development in seven sharply contrasting localities, ranging from the outer council estates of Merseyside to the boom towns of Cheltenham and Swindon. Throughout their analysis, the contributors, drawn from a wide range of social science disciplines, address the vital questions in the debate over local policy initiatives, including: * To what extent are localities able to harness trends in the national aTrade Review`These studies add a great deal to our knowledge of the process of local economic regeneration from a political economy perspective and the interrelationships between the political and economic interests operating in these localities.
