Er blickt gewissermaßen mit dem 'Auge Gottes' auf das Geschehen, das sich im Text vollzieht. Die Rolle des Lesers ist somit die des Mitspielers in der Strategie, wobei allerdings eine Distanzierung des Publikums von den Akteuren der Handlung vorausgesetzt ist. Keine der vorgeführten Personen ist auf Identifikation des Publikums hin angelegt.

Für Thomas Pola heben das Haggaibuch, Sacharja 1-6 sowie Esra 1-6 allein um der Legitimität des Zweiten Tempels und seiner Ordnung willen die Kontinuität zu den entsprechenden vorexilischen Größen hervor.Deshalb arbeitet Thomas Pola den historischen Hintergrund von Hag 1f, Sach 3f und 6,9ff sowie Esr 1-6 heraus. Traditionsgeschichtlich untersucht er in diesen Texten die Transformierung der davidischen Herrschererwartung von einer überwiegend politischen zu einer idealen Gestalt vor dem Hintergrund der sogenannten Messiaserwartung in der vorexilischen und exilischen Schriftprophetie.Er kommt zu folgenden Ergebnissen: Aus der Exilszeit, insbesondere in der Schule des Propheten Ezechiel, war frühnachexilisch eine auch politisch relevante Aufwertung des Priestertums vorgegeben, ohne daß das davidische Ideal dabei verkümmert wäre. Im visionären Grundtext von Sach 4 erscheinen Serubbabel und Josua in kultischem Kontext. Komplementär dazu löst Sach 3 das Problem der Legitimation des neuen Amtes des Hohenpriesters und des ebenfalls neuen Sühnekultes. Weder Haggai noch Sacharja hatten also Serubbabel für eine Inthronisation zum König Judas bestimmt. Vielmehr beschränkten sie Serubbabels Kompetenz bei der Grundsteinlegung des Tempels auf die Funktion eines davidischen Schirmherren.

Book SynopsisDas Qaddish-Gebet ist neben dem Shema' und dem Achtzehn-Bitten-Gebet eines der zentralen Gebete des rabbinischen Judentums. Andreas Lehnardt stellt die frühe Entwicklung und Rezeptionsgeschichte dieses in unterschiedlichen Versionen bekannten Gebets dar. Ein Schwerpunkt der Arbeit liegt auf der textlichen, sprachlichen und formalen Analyse des Gebetes, wobei sowohl die ältesten erreichbaren Textzeugen des Qaddish (u. a. aus der Kairoer Geniza), die frühesten Hinweise auf das Gebet in der rabbinischen Literatur (Targum, Talmud und Midrasch) als auch die Bezugnahmen auf das Qaddish in der Hekhalot-Literatur und in der weitverzweigten gaonäischen Responsenliteratur analysiert werden. Neben Fragen der Datierung und Lokalisierung sowie der Erörterung des Sitzes im Leben untersucht Andreas Lehnardt das in der Forschung bislang wenig beachtete Problem der Funktionen des Qaddish an unterschiedlichen Orten der Liturgie. Gilt das Qaddish seit den Arbeiten von David de Sola Pool und Joseph Heinemann als Gebet aus dem Lehrhaus ( bet ha-midrash), rekonstruiert Andreas Lehnardt ein differenzierteres Bild seiner Genese und Rezeption. Besonderes Augenmerk legt er dabei auf den Einfluß des Brauches (Minhag) auf die liturgischen Applikationen. Abschließend kommt die erst im Mittelalter eingeführte Verwendung des Qaddish als Gebet für die Verstorbenen in den Blick, das sogenannte Waisen-Qaddish. Oder, anders gesagt, was gab den Anlaß für die theologiegeschichtliche Bewegung vom prophetischen Wort zu seiner Auslegung? Armin Lange untersucht für diese Frage wichtige Bibelstellen aus den prophetischen Texten Amos, Micha, Jesaja, Zephanja, Jeremia, Ezechiel und Sacharja sowie aus den Klageliedern. Während aktuelle Prophetie und Tradentenprophetie in vorexilischer Zeit in einem In- und Miteinander existierten, wurde in nachexilischer Zeit die aktuelle Prophetie von der Tradentenprophetie in eine Randexistenz gedrängt. Armin Lange sieht den Grund für diesen Verdrängungsprozeß in den Erfahrungen der spätvorexilischen und frühnachexilischen Zeit. Die Beständigkeit der zionstheologischen Heilsverkündigung trug in den Augen deuteronomistisch geprägter Kreise (so etwa der deuteronomistischen Jeremiaredaktion) eine entscheidende Mitverantwortung für die Katastrophe von 587 v. Chr. Deshalb wurde die aktuelle Prophetie während des Neubaus des Jerusalemer Tempels 520-515 v. Chr. im ganzen in Frage gestellt und die prophetische Prophetenauslegung trat an ihre Stelle.

Karin Schöpflin weist nach, daß es nicht um die Person Ezechiel geht. Die autobiographische Fiktion ist vielmehr literarisches Mittel, um der Leserschaft das theologische Anliegen des Buches nahe zu bringen. Die durchdachte Grundkomposition läßt dies in mehrfacher Hinsicht erkennen: Die festen Sprachmuster, die die einzelnen Sinneinheiten ein- und ausleiten, lassen die Leser aus der Perspektive des angeredeten Menschen an den Gottesvisionen und den Reden Gottes teilhaben. Ezechiel fungiert als Sprachrohr Gottes und zugleich als Zeichen: Gott trägt ihm neben den Worten auch Zeichenhandlungen auf, die die Zerstörung Jerusalems und die Exilierung vorwegnehmend illustrieren.
