Inner Traditions Bear and Company Lost Technologies of Ancient Egypt: Advanced
Book SynopsisFrom the pyramids in the north to the temples in the south, ancient artisans left their marks all over Egypt, unique marks that reveal craftsmanship we would be hard pressed to duplicate today. Drawing together the results of more than 30 years of research and nine field study journeys to Egypt, Christopher Dunn presents a stunning stone-by-stone analysis of key Egyptian monuments, including the statue of Ramses II at Luxor and the fallen crowns that lay at its feet. His modern-day engineering expertise provides a unique view into the sophisticated technology used to create these famous monuments in prehistoric times. Using modern digital photography, computer-aided design software and metrology instruments, Dunn exposes the extreme precision of these monuments and the type of advanced manufacturing expertise necessary to produce them. His computer analysis of the statues of Ramses II reveals that the left and right sides of the faces are precise mirror images of each other and his examination of the mysterious underground tunnels of the Serapeum illuminates the finest examples of precision engineering on the planet. Providing never-before-seen evidence in the form of more than 280 photographs, Dunn's research shows that while absent from the archaeological record, highly refined tools, techniques and even mega-machines must have been used in ancient Egypt.Trade Review"I never cease to be astonished by Christopher Dunn's knowledge of ancient Egyptian technology. I believe he knows more of it than any man alive." * Colin Wilson, author of Atlantis and the Kingdom of the Neanderthals, June 2010 *“This is an extremely important and original book. Christopher Dunn indisputably demonstrates that the ancient Egyptians were much more technologically advanced than the vast majority of modern Egyptologists, archaeologists, and historians ever dared imagine.” * Robert M. Schoch, Ph.D., author of Voyages of the Pyramid Builders and Pyramid Quest *“Christopher Dunn makes a stunningly convincing case that the makers of the ancient Egyptian stone monuments and images possessed sophisticated technologies rivaling our own in terms of their precision and capabilities.” * Michael A. Cremo, author of Forbidden Archeology and Human Devolution *“Christopher Dunn is an expert in his field. He knows a great deal about stone-cutting tools and has spent many years studying the ancient Egyptian monuments, sculptures, and artifacts. His findings are revolutionary. His word carries weight. If he is right, our perception of who the ancient Egyptians were may completely change. Read this book!” * Robert Bauval, author of The Orion Mystery, Message of the Sphinx and The Egypt Code *“Christopher Dunn’s painstaking work, literally, makes the ‘stones’ of the Egyptian gods speak. He provides profound archaeological evidence that shows an engineering consistency, suggesting an advanced intelligence, which understood the supreme science of sacred geometry. A must-read book for those who wish to understand the advancement of Egyptology in the world of today.” * J. J. Hurtak, Ph.D., author of The Book of Knowledge: the Keys of Enoch *“Utilizing almost 50 years of professional experience in engineering, manufacturing, tool-making, and space-age precision, Chris Dunn has provided an in-depth analysis of ancient Egyptian statuary, temples, and manufactured artifacts that has never been presented previously. This outstanding book, supremely well researched, amply illustrated, and complete with detailed photographs, will be cited as a major paradigm shift and reference source in the field for many years to come.” * Stephen S. Mehler, M.A., director of research, Great Pyramid of Giza Research Association *“Admirers of Egyptian art and architecture are most fortunate that Christopher Dunn directs his experienced engineer’s eye toward the Egyptians’ ancient stonework. By noticing the most minute details he reveals sophisticated craftsmanship and immense significance for all areas of Egyptology. Mathematicians will appreciate the amazing three-dimensional geometry made manifest in very hard stone. Dunn points the way for geometers to uncover sharper, more accurate analyses of the proportions of Egyptian design. This book is an important contribution to scientific scholarship by showing how archaeology can firmly rest on a measurable foundation.” * Michael S. Schneider, author of A Beginner’s Guide to Constructing the Universe *“In this book, Christopher Dunn has brought to the field of Egyptology a new approach, which has been needed for decades. His ability as an engineer and master craftsman has given him the insight to discover ancient technologies and techniques that have been missed by traditional Egyptologists. This book is a paradigm change for the way of thinking about our ancient history and ancestors. I highly recommend this beautiful illustrated book to both academic and alternative researchers and for anyone interested in new ways of thinking about our ancient past.” * John DeSalvo, Ph.D., author of The Lost Art of Enochian Magic and director of the Great Pyramid of G *“As with Newton and the apple, Chris Dunn got a vision when visiting Egypt. His engineering background allowed him to unleash incredible facts, and thanks to this highly detailed book, we can now share the same marvels.” * Alain Hubrecht, architect, writer, professor, and founder of the Association Transpersonnelle Belge *“If you want to see the precise high technologies ancient Egyptians really had, read this book. It is a serious donation to Egyptian legacy and an opus for the future of this planet.” * Antoine Gigal, author, researcher, and president of Giza for Humanity *“I believe, as Chris Dunn superbly details in this book, that ancient Egyptian sculptors and architects were so precise and their works so monumental that they must have used sophisticated technology, probably hidden in their time and now lost to ours.” * Mike Leckie, stone sculptor *"Whether you can fully grasp the intricacies of what he says, he makes it very easy to look at ancient monuments with new eyes, and a greater appreciation for the effort involved in creating them." * Michael Gleason, Reviewer, August 2010 *“. . . Chris Dunn, with over 20 years of investigation, possessing unique technical skills, and showing a keen, perceptive eye for detail, has unlocked the door to knowledge that will eventually overturn established thinking about the civilization we call ‘Ancient Egypt’.” * Alan Glassman, New Dawn Magazine, January 2011 *Table of Contents Foreword: Shifting Paradigms by Arlan Andrews Sr., ScD Foreword: Recognizing the Brilliance of Ancient Manufacturing by Judd C. Inner Traditions Bear and Company The Forbidden Rumi: The Suppressed Poems of Rumi
Book SynopsisAfter his overwhelming and life-altering encounters with Shams of Tabriz, Rumi, the great thirteenth-century mystic, poet, and originator of the whirling dervishes, let go of many of the precepts of formal religion, insisting that only a complete personal dissolving into the larger energies of God could provide the satisfaction that the heart so desperately seeks. He began to speak spontaneously in the language of poetry, and his followers compiled his 44,000 verses into 23 volumes, collectively called the Divan. When Nevit Ergin decided to translate the Divan of Rumi into English, he enlisted the help of the Turkish government, which was happy to participate. The first 22 volumes were published without difficulty, but the government withdrew its support and refused to participate in the publication of the final volume due to its openly heretical nature. Now, in The Forbidden Rumi, Will Johnson and Nevit Ergin present for the first time in English Rumi’s poems from this forbidden volume. The collection is grouped into three sections: songs to Shams and God, songs of heresy, and songs of advice and admonition. In them Rumi explains that in order to transform our consciousness, we must let go of ingrained habits and embrace new ones. In short, we must become heretics.Trade Review“For the past fifty years Nevit Ergin has been working to bring into English the entirety of Rumi’s vast Divani Shamsi Tabriz. This last volume is the most incendiary and it clearly dissolves the boundaries of organized religion and national ego that keep us from the table of friendship that Rumi invites us to. . . . We are very grateful to Dr. Ergin for his life’s work.” * Coleman Barks, translator of The Essential Rumi *"It takes a great deal of courage to read The Forbidden Rumi as it may press a lot of buttons, not only about your own pathway to God, but your views and prejudices about love, religion, heresy and Islam. "All of Rumi’s poems have enjoined us to release the rules and open our hearts to our inner treasure of love, but these most controversial poems cut to the bone. "This final book of Rumi’s poems is a must-read for any serious student of spiritual ecstasy. They pose questions that make us wonder and re-evaluate our views about a religion that is portrayed as governed by extremists. They reveal a hidden face of Islam that may surprise even moderate Islamists. "Most importantly, these poems reveal that Islam too has always had a mystical, transcendent element that is its purest gift." * Lesley Crossingham, New Dawn, Mar-Apr 2007 *Table of ContentsIntroductionSongs to Shams, Songs to GodHe Took Me Under His Arm Split Wide OpenI Won’t Repent His LoveHow Can I Fool Him?WaterStay with MeConversations with God The Greatness of AbsenceHow Happy a TimeWhat a Bird!Love Letter to ShamsDeath Is Life for You More Than TheseWhat Can I Do?Give Up YourselfI Keep Smiling Why Are You Deceiving Me?He Embraced Me Like His Own Soul The Placeless PlaceEveryone Else Is a StrangerBeautiful OneThe Promise Is SweetStill Say NothingFlying High On Your WineOffer Your WinePlease Don’t GoIt Wasn’t Like ThatShamseddinThe Road Is Narrow Don’t Go AwayLifting the CurtainHis TraceWherever You AreDon’t Go Anywhere Without MeYour Blessing Is UnconditionalSongs of Advice, Songs of AdmonitionSearch ThereThe Best NourishmentFastingDivine RoadChoose LoveGod’s OceanWatch How God Opens the DoorThe Journey Starts HereAscend the Mountain of Love Don’t You Recall? These Two WorldsOutside the SackA Rascal in the BazaarJust Do It Your Overflowing SecretsThe Drunks of UnionAhead of the ThoughtThe Land of AbsenceLove Is Its Own Proof Advice to the Drunk at Heart Light and Shadow Words into DustTime to JourneyCome as You AreThe Language of the HeartFree WineThe Perfect Host A Helper of HeartsA Life Without Art God’s ArtistryAll That Is GoodOpen the DoorDonkey and OxCheckmateThe Caravan’s BellsSteal PearlsThis Temporary WorldSome AdviceMusic at the Tavern of Eternity The Eggshell of the BodyOpen Your Door Heaven’s DoorRebornSubmerged in AbsenceLife Is Coming to the Rose GardenThe Path in the HeartThe Rose’s PleaWhy Are You So Reasonable? You Are in His HandCries of ConfirmationWords of the SecretsHidden from the EyesYou Snatched My HeartThe Moon’s SlaveCut It ShortSongs of HeresyYou Can’t Get AwayI Came Back to YouEveryone Is Welcome to This SchoolA Stranger to Myself I Am the One!Wake Up from Your SleepHe Is Beyond PraiseTranslator’s Afterword

Inner Traditions Bear and Company Introduction to Magic, Volume II: The Path of
Book SynopsisAuthentic initiatic practices, rituals, and wisdom collected by the UR Group The “Gruppo di UR” was a group of Italian esotericists who collaborated from 1927 to 1929. The purpose of this group was to study and practice ancient rituals gleaned from the mystery traditions of the world, both East and West, in order to attain a state of superhuman consciousness and power to allow them to act magically on the world. They produced a monthly journal containing techniques for spiritual realization, accounts of personal experiences, translations of ancient texts, and original essays on esoteric topics. The group included a distinguished line-up of occultists, neo-pagans, freemasons, Anthroposophists, orientalists, poets, and members of high society. This volume, the second in the series, complements the first one, yet they are not strictly sequential, and their contents can be read in any order. Volume II shares authentic initiatic wisdom and a rigorous selection of initiatory exercises, including instructions for creating the diaphanous body of the Opus magicum, establishing initiatic consciousness after death, and the construction of magical chains (the enchained awareness of initiates). It offers studies of mystery traditions throughout history, presenting not only the principles themselves but also witnesses to them and their continual validity today. This series shows that the “Magic” of the UR Group meant an active and affirmative attitude toward individual development, handed down from a “primordial tradition” and discernable in alchemy, Hermetism, esoteric religious doctrines, indigenous practices, Tantra, Taoism, Buddhism, Vedanta, and the pagan mysteries of the West. Trade Review“The formulas that Evola transmits, and the complex listing of the causes and effects that accompany them, seem to me so important, not only for spiritual life but for the use of all the faculties, that I know of no human condition that they cannot improve, whether in the case of the man of action, of the writer, or simply the person in the toils of life.” * Marguerite Yourcenar (1903-1987), author of Memoirs of Hadrian *“A dazzling and interesting, but very dangerous, author . . .” * Hermann Hesse, author of Siddhartha *“One of the most difficult and ambiguous figures in modern esotericism.” * Richard Smoley, author of The Deal: A Guide to Radical and Complete Forgiveness *“Eros and the Mysteries of Love invokes the rich sexual symbolism of religious myths and mysteries throughout history, from the I Ching to the Kabbalah, to illustrate the redemptive power of the sexual act.” * Los Angeles Times *“Introduction to Magic, vol. I, should be standard reading for any serious academic or practical student of occultism. . . . Experienced occultists will welcome it as a breath of fresh air and a journey into little discussed territories.” * Mark Stavish, author of Egregores and founder of the Institute for Hermetic Studies *“The collection of essays in Introduction to Magic, vol. I . . . cover the practical, the theoretical, and the unclassifiable, such as the Mithraic Ritual of the Great Magical Papyrus of Paris, the only ritual from the ancient Mysteries to have survived intact.” * The Watkins Review *“Revolt Against the Modern World is destined to remain an essential work and frame-of-reference for anyone seriously involved in native European spirituality.” * Michael Moynihan, coauthor of Lords of Chaos *“Disgusted by the cruelty and artificiality of communism, scorning the dogmatic, self-centered fascism of his age, Evola looks beyond man-made systems in Men Among the Ruins to the eternal principles in creation and human society. The truth, as he sees it, is so totally at odds with the present way of thinking that it shocks the modern mind. Evola was no politician, trying to make the best of things, but an idealist, uncompromising in the pursuit of the best itself.” * John Michell, author of The Dimensions of Paradise *“Men Among the Ruins is Julius Evola’s most notorious work: an unsparing indictment of modern society and politics. This book is not a work for complacent, self-satisfied minds . . . it is a shocking and humbling text that will be either loved or hated. Evola’s enemies cannot refute him; they can only ignore him. They do so at their peril.” * Glenn A. Magee, author of Hegel and the Hermetic Tradition *“In Ride the Tiger Evola shows, unintentionally but with passion, why European Tradition may not be able to match East Asia in riding the tiger in today’s world. It lacks a spirituality for today’s mundane world, tempered by the harsh realism of Daoism and the practical disciplines of Confucianism.” * New Dawn Magazine *“Evola . . . had a clarity of mind and a gift for explaining tremendously difficult concepts in nonacademic language. . . . His descriptions of subtle states and the practices that lead to them are as lucid as these difficult subjects allow.” * Gnosis: A Journal of the Western Inner Traditions *"An impressively informative and exceptionally well organized and impressive study, Introduction to Magic: The Path of Initiatic Wisdom is unreservedly recommended for personal, professional, community, and academic library Metaphysical Studies collections. Also very highly recommended is Julius Evola's Introduction to Magic: Rituals and Practical Techniques for the Magus, which is volume one of this outstanding two volume body of work." * Julie Summers, Midwest Book Review *"An impressively informative and exceptionally well organized and impressive study, Introduction to Magic: The Path of Initiatic Wisdom is unreservedly recommended for personal, professional, community, and academic library Metaphysical Studies collections. The information he presents resonates credibly with my accumulated knowledge from other sources and from my personal experience. From Pythagoras, through Christian Mysticism, Hinduism, and Hermeticism, Evola spells out the roots of traditions that spawned currently-popular “New Age” practices. Liverpool University Press Cunning Folk and Familiar Spirits: Shamanistic
Book SynopsisThis book contains the first comprehensive examination of popular familiar belief in early modern Britain. It provides an in-depth analysis of the correlation between early modern British magic and tribal shamanism, examines the experiential dimension of popular magic and witchcraft in early modern Britain, and explores the links between British fairy beliefs and witch beliefs. In the hundreds of confessions relating to witchcraft and sorcery trials in early modern Britain there are detailed descriptions of intimate working relationships between popular magical practitioners and familiar spirits of either human or animal form. Until recently historians often dismissed these descriptions as elaborate fictions created by judicial interrogators eager to find evidence of stereotypical pacts with the Devil. Although this paradigm is now routinely questioned, and most historians acknowledge that there was a folkloric component to familiar lore in the period, these beliefs, and the experiences reportedly associated with them, remain substantially unexplored. This book examines the folkloric roots of familiar lore from historical, anthropological and comparative religious perspectives. It argues that beliefs about witches' familiars were rooted in beliefs surrounding the use of fairy familiars by beneficent magical practitioners or cunning folk', and corroborates this through a comparative analysis of familiar beliefs found in traditional Native American and Siberian shamanism. The author explores the experiential dimension of familiar lore by drawing parallels between early modern familiar encounters and visionary mysticism as it appears in both tribal shamanism and medieval European contemplative traditions. These perspectives challenge the reductionist view of popular magic in early modern Britain often presented by historians.Trade Review"Magic and witchcraft have between them represented one of the most difficult and challenging subjects for modern historians. Emma Wilby's book is a remarkably interesting, timely and novel way of looking at them, and one of the most courageous yet attempted." -- Professor Ronald Hutton, University of Bristol."Emma Wilby's conclusions and her explanation of how she drew them, laid down here in the commendable modern academic tendency towards plain English that has moved away from the previous generation's overly complex sentence structure, is worth its weight in gold." Inner Traditions Bear and Company A Druid's Herbal of Sacred Tree Medicine
Book SynopsisThe Druids used the ancient Ogham Tree Alphabet to work magic and honor the dead, surrounding each letter with medicinal and spiritual lore. Poets and bards created a secret sign language to describe the letters, each of which is named for a tree or a plant. For centuries this language was transmitted only orally in order to protect its secrets. Combining her extensive herbal knowledge and keen poetic insight, Ellen Evert Hopman delves deeply into the historic allusions and associations of each of the 20 letters of the Ogham Tree Alphabet. She also examines Native American healing methods for possible clues to the way ancient Europeans may have used these trees as healing agents. Druidic spiritual practices, herbal healing remedies, and plant lore are included for each tree in the alphabet as well as how each is used in traditional rituals such as the Celtic Fire Festivals and other celebrations. Hopman also includes a pronunciation guide for the oghams and information on the divinatory meanings associated with each tree.Trade Review"Ellen Evert Hopman has put together a great resource for tree lore in A Druid's Herbal of Sacred Tree Medicine. Not only does this book offer an historical perspective on the culture and civilization of the Druids of Ireland, it provides a description of the herbal uses and spiritual aspects of each tree described by the Ogham Tree Alphabet." * Kathryn Price, book editor, WomensRadio *"Not only is Hopman a Druid priestess extraordinaire, but a master herbalist. . . . I would suggest this book to anyone interested in Celtic history, mythology, herbalism, and/or Pagan religious practices. In other words, most everyone." * The Magical Buffet, Nov 2008 *"This could be a reference to keep in your library, or used as a place to start an entirely new avenue of education and learning. The presentation is simple enough not to be intimidating, but the depth of information and the bibliography are quite impressive." * D. Inner Traditions Bear and Company Land of the Fallen Star Gods: The Celestial
Book SynopsisRadically reinterpreting the time line of prehistory, J. S. Gordon shows that Egyptian civilization is 50,000 years older than acknowledged by Egyptology. He explores astrophysical, cosmological, geophysical, linguistic, and anthropological evidence to reveal forgotten civilizations hidden beneath the Mediterranean and along the coast of northwestern Africa. He explains how the “spontaneous” full-fledged appearance of Egyptian and Sumerian civilizations 5,000 years ago represents not the birth of civilization but the remnants of an immensely ancient and sophisticated worldwide culture ranging from Tibet and China to Atlantis and the vastly larger continent of which it once was part. Examining the mystical traditions and initiatory rituals of the ancient Egyptians, Gordon shows that they were not a culture obsessed with death and tombs but one structured around cosmic knowledge, with an astronomical competence that modern science has yet to attain. He reveals their sophisticated understanding of the precession of the equinoxes and its inextricable connection to human evolution and divine purpose--an understanding that could only have arisen from many millennia of high-level observation. Illustrating in detail the sacred geometry of the Great Pyramid and the Giza site, Gordon explains how the coherence of Egyptian mystico-scientific concepts and their art, architecture, and engineering reveals a mission to achieve a “reflection of Heaven on Earth” through the careful location, orientation, and stellar alignment of their temples. He shows the Egyptian Mystery School and its scientific knowledge and universal spiritual philosophy to be a legacy left to the ancient Egyptians by the “fallen star gods,” divine celestial beings who came to Earth long ago and founded the original now forgotten culture--and who will return again with the turning of the Great Year.Trade Review“Painstakingly researched and eloquently written, J. S. Gordon’s Land of the Fallen Star Gods paints a broad, detailed picture of what must be an ancient language of science embedded in an ancient civilization’s expression. The Egyptian’s use of symbol and metaphor in art, architecture, and civil planning was no mere function of primitive religiosity. Rather, it was the philosophical foundation of civilization expressing deep insights into human existence and the significance of the human experience. Land of the Fallen Star Gods is not only fascinating but also an important work of scholarship. It should be required reading for anyone interested in civilization’s origins and the birth of the Western religious and esoteric traditions." * Edward F. Malkowski, author of Before the Pharaohs, The Spiritual Technology of Ancient Egypt, and A *“That an advanced lost civilization is part of our human heritage should now be self-evident to all those capable of rational thought. John Gordon’s book takes the currently neglected ‘long’ view of the lost civilization hypothesis (derived mainly from theosophy and Hindu/Vedic accounts) and defends it with solid scholarship, reasoned argument, and a deep understanding of esoteric philosophy. At once gutsy and erudite, this is a really interesting book." * John Anthony West, author of Serpent in the Sky and The Traveler’s Key to Ancient Egypt *“The primary hypothesis of Land of the Fallen Star Gods is that that the ancient Egyptian culture carried the legacy of ‘fallen star gods’, divine celestial beings who visited Earth in the distant past, and will one day come again. Land of the Fallen Star Gods is fascinating and accessible from cover to cover, highly recommended especially for Metaphysical Studies shelves.” * Midwest Book Review, November 2014 *“Brilliant, erudite, and controversial, John Gordon has used Madame Blavatsky’s insights to throw a new light on the problems of ancient Egyptian civilization." * Colin Wilson, author of the bestselling The Outsider, The Occult: A History, and Atlantis and the Ki *Table of ContentsAcknowledgments INTRODUCTION A Fresh Approach Part One Origins ONE Cosmic Seasons and Astronomical Cycles TWO Geological, Geographical, and Climatological Issues THREE The Disappearing “Atlantes” FOUR The Appearance of Culture and Civilization Part Two Traditions FIVE Egyptian Magic and the Law of Hierarchy SIX Two Egyptian Mystery Traditions Reconsidered SEVEN Gods of the Abyss and Underworld EIGHT The Ancient Esoteric Division of Egypt and the Significance of Its Main Temples Part Three Knowledge NINE Completing the “Jigsaw Puzzle” of Astronomical Metaphors and Allegories TEN Sacred Geometry and the “Living” Architecture of Egypt ELEVEN The Esoteric Significance of the Sphinx and Pyramids TWELVE The Internal Geometry of the Great Pyramid THIRTEEN Reflections APPENDICES A The Relationship between the Sothic Year and the Annus Magnus B From Plato’s Timaeus C On Geology D From Schwaller de Lubicz’s Sacred Science E From S. Oxford University Press Inc Ritual
Book SynopsisRitual is part of what it means to be human. Like sports, music, and drama, ritual defines and enriches culture, putting those who practice it in touch with sources of value and meaning larger than themselves. Ritual is unavoidable, yet it holds a place in modern life that is decidedly ambiguous. What is ritual? What does it do? Is it useful? What are the various kinds of ritual? Is ritual tradition bound and conservative or innovative and transformational?Alongside description of a number of specific rites, this Very Short Introduction explores ritual from both theoretical and historical perspectives. Barry Stephenson focuses on the places where ritual touches everyday life: in politics and power; moments of transformation in the life cycle; as performance and embodiment. He also discusses the boundaries of ritual, and how and why certain behaviors have been studied as ritual while others have not. Stephenson shows how ritual is an important vehicle for group and identity formation; how it generates and transmits beliefs and values; how it can be used to exploit and oppress; and how it has served as a touchstone for thinking about cultural origins and historical change. Encompassing the breadth and depth of modern ritual studies, Barry Stephenson''s Very Short Introduction also develops a narrative of ritual''s place in social and cultural life. ABOUT THE SERIES: The Very Short Introductions series from Oxford University Press contains hundreds of titles in almost every subject area. Inner Traditions Bear and Company Black Genesis: The Prehistoric Origins of Ancient
Book SynopsisRelegated to the realm of archaeological heresy, despite a wealth of hard scientific evidence, the theory that an advanced civilization of black Africans settled in the Sahara long before Pharaonic Egypt existed has been dismissed and even condemned by conventional Egyptologists, archaeologists, and the Egyptian government. Uncovering compelling new evidence, Egyptologist Robert Bauval and astrophysicist Thomas Brophy present the anthropological, climatological, archaeological, geological, and genetic research supporting this hugely debated theory of the black African origin of Egyptian civilization. Building upon extensive studies from the past four decades and their own archaeoastronomical and hieroglyphic research, the authors show how the early black culture known as the Cattle People not only domesticated cattle but also had a sophisticated grasp of astronomy; created plentiful rock art at Gilf Kebir and Gebel Uwainat; had trade routes to the Mediterranean coast, central Africa, and the Sinai; held spiritual and occult ceremonies; and constructed a stone calendar circle and megaliths at the ceremonial site of Nabta Playa reminiscent of Stonehenge, yet much older. Revealing these “Star People” as the true founders of ancient Egyptian civilization, this book completely rewrites the history of world civilization, placing black Africa back in its rightful place at the center of mankind’s origins.Trade Review“Black Genesis offers astounding new insights as Bauval and Brophy forcefully support, with hard data, the radical idea that Egyptian civilization was the outgrowth of a sophisticated Black African culture that existed thousands of years prior to the earliest known pharaohs. Their book is a must read for anyone interested in genuinely understanding the true origins of ancient Egypt and the dynamics of how civilizations develop.” * Robert M. Schoch, Ph.D., author of Voyages of the Pyramid Builders and Pyramid Quest *“Readers of Black Genesis will never think of ancient Egypt in the same way again. Bauval and Brophy make the case that this venerable civilization was originated by Black Africans from the Sahara Desert and that the pyramids, the statues, and the hieroglyphs were the result of their knowledge and ingenuity. The authors trace the series of errors and misjudgments that have obscured the origins of this remarkable civilization. It is time for the record to be set straight, and Black Genesis is the book that may well do it. This is an authoritative, excellent, well-written book.” * Stanley Krippner, Ph.D., professor of psychology at Saybrook University and coauthor of Personal Myt *“In Black Genesis, Bauval and Brophy combined their investigative skills to answer an obvious but often-neglected question, “Who were the ancient Egyptians?” With new astroarchaeological evidence they build a strong case for “The African origin of the pharaohs” and have dramatically altered our understanding of the past.” * Anthony T. Browder, author and independent Egyptologist *“Extremely dense and possibly groundbreaking, Bauval and Brophy make an honest case for a “very different story of the origins of ancient Egypt.” Their scholarship is meticulous . . .” * Publishers Weekly, June 2011 *“. . . packed with revelations!” * Midwest Book Review, July 2011 *“The tales of the authors’ 2008 expedition and of explorers in the past century add to the enticing read.” * Nexus Magazine, August 2011 *“Recommended.” * R. Fritze, Athens State University, Choice Reviews Online, October 2011 *“Both authors are highly accredited researchers who have provided an incredibly detailed book examining the connection between the astronomy of the pharaohs and their Neolithic counterparts.” * Fate Magazine, October 2011 *“Black Genesis is a captivating, thought-provoking, utterly intriguing read that traces back the origins of the high civilization of ancient Egypt into deepest prehistory. Inner Traditions Bear and Company The Shamanic Path to Quantum Consciousness: The
Book SynopsisFirst outlined by Timothy Leary and later expanded by Robert Anton Wilson and Antero Alli, the eight-circuit model of consciousness explains how the soul is multidimensional and functions on eight distinct interconnected planes that form the eight circuits of conscious awareness. Each circuit is connected to certain behaviors and personality traits--the second circuit, for example, is connected to emotional consciousness, such as intuition, feelings of courage, or, in its unbalanced state, aggression and domination, and the eighth circuit, the creative circuit of quantum consciousness, is related to limitless perception, understanding, and action that extends far beyond the limits of planet Earth. Laurent Huguelit explains how these eight levels of awareness are interconnected through feedback loops, forming a cybernetic mapping of the soul. He explores the underactive, overactive, and balanced states of each circuit, offering many psychological profiles as examples. He reveals how activating a circuit that has been neglected can help bring another into balance. Connecting this model of conscious evolution to shamanism--the oldest consciousness science known to man--the author explains how to balance and upgrade your own circuits through shamanic techniques. He reveals how to reconnect with source energy by deprogramming trauma from your childhood that can affect your circuits. With access to this unlimited energy you can activate your innate creative power to manifest your desires and shape reality. Uniting shamanism and the law of attraction with advanced concepts of modern psychology, quantum physics, and the Akashic field theory of Ervin Laszlo, Laurent Huguelit offers a practical map of human consciousness and the development of the soul as well as a vision for the cybernetic future of shamanism.Trade Review“The Shamanic Path to Quantum Consciousness offers deep insights into the diverse levels of human consciousness. Approached from the perspective of the ancient and now ever more popular philosophy of shamanism, it reaches a pinnacle at the eighth level with quantum consciousness--the same concept I identified using a scientific analysis to define the next development in the evolution of the human mind. This is a remarkable confluence of two entirely different perspectives.” * Ervin Laszlo, Nobel Prize nominee and author of Science and the Akashic Field and The Self-Actualizi *“The work of Laurent Huguelit--cartographer of the psyche, explorer of the soul and invisible worlds--allows shamanism to become an evolutionary tool more accessible to our Western world.” * Stéphane Allix, founder and director of INREES Institute of Research, Paris *“The Shamanic Path to Quantum Consciousness is an excellent tool for mature readers who are also fans of Timothy Leary, those not necessarily needing a spiritual experience but wanting to explore their own minds and souls on a deeper level.” * Allyson Gracie, Wellness Specialist, Pilates & Yoga Instructor, January 2014 *Table of Contents Foreword by Antero Alli Prologue: A Return to the Ground State 1 Timothy Leary: The Progenitor 2 A History of Circuits 3 A Global Cosmology 4 Basic Cybernetics 5 Traditional Shamanism and Cybernetic Shamanism: A Productive Encounter 6 The Akashic Field and the Law of Attraction: A Trip to the Heart of the Eighth Circuit 7 The Practice of Cybernetic Shamanism Epilogue: Closing the Loop Appendix A: Three Pieces of Good News Appendix B: Open Source Appendix C: The Circuits Day by Day Acknowledgments Notes Glossary Bibliography Resources Index

Bain explores the inconsistencies, coincidences, and historical precedents of the events of September 11, 2001, and reconstructs an occult-driven script for a Global Luciferian MegaRitual. Hays (Nicolas) Ltd ,U.S. Arbatel
Book SynopsisIn many ways, ARBATEL is unique among texts on magic. Unlike the vast majority of writings, it is clear, concise and elegantly written. The practical instructions are straightforward and undemanding. When it first appeared in 1575, it attracted the attention of people with a surprisingly broad range of agendas, including some of the finest minds of the time. Often quoted and reprinted, both praised and condemned, its impact on western esoteric philosophy has been called overwhelming. ARBATEL''s magic is full of wonder and free from the sinister elements usually associated with texts on the subject. But it is about more than magic; filled with gnomic wisdom, it urges us to help our neighbours, be positive and grateful and use time wisely. Above all, it teaches us to pay attention, looking for the wondrous and miraculous. In fact, to the author, this virtually defines the magus. This translation, the first English version published since 1655, illuminates many obscure points in the text. Peterson''s introduction concisely documents the provenance of the text, explains the magical techniques employed and its influence on esoteric literature, including the grimoires and the Theosophical movement. The book, also, utilises important new research by Carlos Gilly, Antoine Favre, and others.Included are illustrations, bibliography, index and original Latin text.First English translation published since in 1655.

Red Wheel/Weiser Hoodoo Justice Magic: Spells for Power,
Book Synopsis Hoodoo spellwork and rituals for self-protection and how to get “payback” when you’re wronged. Features 129 spells, 32 recipes, and numerous rituals. Historically, Hoodoo was the magic of the disenfranchised, marginalized, and vulnerable. It was born of the need to obtain justice, power, and protection, as these were not typically naturally forthcoming. The ancestors and earliest practitioners of Hoodoo were enslaved African Americans, followed by their descendants and neighbors. How does one obtain justice if the system is inherently skewed against you? Hoodoo has developed a vast arsenal of justice and payback spells—spells intended to create a balance of power, punish victimizers, and protect victims from further victimization. It also empowers the victimized, so that they are able to rise above their situations, restore self-esteem, and create better, happier lives for themselves. The spells vary from mild to aggressive, depending on the personal level of justification.Hoodoo Justice Magic contains a diverse collection of these spells, as well as an exploration of their ethics. (Are you really justified? And what happens if you’re not?) Featuring 129 spells, 32 recipes, and numerous rituals, there are also 27 prayers for people who fear actually performing spellwork. The spells incorporate common household articles, such as salt and spices, as well as candles, tarot cards, and recitation of Psalms. Learn how to protect yourself and avoid trouble by recognizing the signs indicating predatory behavior. (Although several spells incorporate specific tarot cards, no previous knowledge or experience of them is required, as they are used as materials or objects that radiate magic power.)
