Muddy Pearl Highway 35: Meeting Disaster Head on with Hope
Book SynopsisMotorcycle road trips across the United States were a lifelong dream, and now, with children grown up and a new work posting to Texas, it finally seemed within reach for Chris and Denise Arthey. But only a few hours down the road, on an arrow-straight stretch of Highway 35, devastation struck. A drunk driver veered across the carriageway and their Harley-Davidson was involved in a head-on collision. One medic commented after the air ambulances lifted off that "the motorcyclists may not make it". The Artheys did "make it", and then some. Both lost their left leg above the knee, and Chris suffered serious head and internal injuries, but their survival was remarkable. Even more remarkable is the story of their recovery. As Chris and Denise learned to cope with pain and a new reality, they simply refused to become physically held back, or to be frozen in anger and regret. They have gone on to lead extraordinarily full lives; returning to their vocations and taking another overseas posting to the Middle East before building new roles as ambassadors in the prosthetics industry. Chris has taken on marathons and triathlons, Mount Kilimanjaro, Everest Base Camp and a master's degree along the way. With an honesty that is both raw and vulnerable, the Artheys take us on their unique journey of hope against all odds, explaining how they rebuilt their lives, 'step by step', after their accident. More than a compelling story of survival, Highway 35 is an account of astounding personal strength and fighting spirit, of depth and integrity of relationship and uncompromising faith in the face of the most difficult of challenges.Table of ContentsForeword by Pete Greig, 24-7 Prayer Acknowledgements 1. HarperChristian Resources Why Easter? Expanded Edition
Book SynopsisPrepare for your guests this Easter with a wonderful evangelistic booklet by Nicky Gumbel. Like Gumbel's Why Jesus?, this booklet is a concise and easy-to-read study of the very real questions surrounding Jesus that people might be thinking about at Easter: Who is Jesus? Why do we need him? Why did he have to die? Why does he matter to my life today? With hearts particularly open in the Easter season, these booklets are an effective evangelistic tool to pass out to guests at your services, sharing the Gospel in a warm and relevant way.Alpha is based on a pattern found in the New Testament of people bringing their friends, family, and work colleagues to meet Jesus. Alpha is an easy way to say to friends, "Come and see, come and explore your questions, come and hear about Jesus, come and see for yourself." Everyone is welcome at Alpha, but the program is designed especially for people who would not describe themselves as Christians or church-goers.

Carpenter's Son Publishing Not Really A Princess: A journey from adversity
Book SynopsisNot Really A Princess is a redemption story dealing with grief, adoption, poverty, rejection and issues concerning widows. It begins in a small town in Washington where the author and her sister, Lisa were adopted at an early age. Through trying times they struggled both financially and emotionally. Their adoptive dad died when the author was 13 and they had no income. Moma sank into despair. Through this time Moma, Lisa and the author became believers in Christ as their Saviour. This gave them hope and an inner peace through years of being encouraged by others and studying God’s Word. The final twenty-five years of Moma’s life were her happiest times. She turned from bitterness created by adversity to a joyful life of praying for others. The author and her sister had their own changes and growth in their lives. She struggled with feelings of rejection, of truly believing others loved her and also accepting that her Moma was a truly renewed person. This story encompasses many genres and reaches out to those who need hope through difficult times. Hopefully it will be used as a tool by many to show others they can grow and change throughout their life.

Carpenter's Son Publishing It’s Not About the Pie: A Fresh Look at
Book SynopsisIt’s Not About The Pie is a fresh look at hospitality. Author, Nicki Corinne White, often hears from people that they are not “gifted” in hospitality. It always makes her cringe a bit. She has always felt that, if there is a need we can meet, we should meet it. Her home is far from perfect, but she does not think that matters to most who enter her home. They are so thankful that they are welcome and look forward to their time whether it’s for a dinner party, Bible study or just to share their heart. This book deals with how to be hospitable, ideas for decorating, recipes for tasting and how you can reach out to the needy. It focuses on what God wants our perspective to be on inviting others into our home, why we should have others into our home, and the fact that your home does not have to be perfect. Just open. It will also give you encouragement about how to reach out to widows, orphans and others in need. The key is to be willing and work at ways to keep your home open. Maybe this book’s purpose is to show you ideas that will allow you to make a few things, so you will feel more comfortable having someone stay with you. It’s Not About The Pie also gives examples of people helping people in a variety of ways. From an older woman befriending a newcomer in town to a church paying expenses for someone who has cancer and cannot pay the bills to the neighbor watching little children, so someone can go out for a long needed date night. It also shares Bible verses on what our role truly is that God has shown us in His Word. It’s Not About The Pie will inspire readers to have the encouragement they need to welcome the neighbor that they have been wanting to know, the young widow with little kids who just needs a fun night or someone going through chemo whose spouse is beside himself not knowing what to do and just in need of a listening ear. Maybe someone has a guest room that is only used once a year but could be used to help a missionary family or a college student who has nowhere to go during spring break. There are needs everywhere for us to meet. This book will inspire our hearts to go beyond the norm.
