Search Press Ltd Beautiful Quilling Step-by-Step
Book SynopsisFour experienced paper crafters show you everything you need to make your own quilled characters, wildflowers and motifs to decorate your craftwork. A comprehensive source of innovative ideas, each of the many projects is accompanied by full step-by-step techniques. Start from the beginning, with clear explanations of the basics of quilling, and build up to make everything from chocolate drops to angels, taking in frogs and hot air balloons along the way!Trade ReviewOctober 2015 We think you'll be really keen to take up quilling after reading this. For beginners, there's a how-to section, while for the more advanced quiller there are some challenging projects- from chocolates that look fit to eat to delightful fairies and cute poodles. It contains all the information you need to start quilling, including a guide on tools and techniques, plus clear step-by-steps and templates. You'll be amazed at the intricate designs you can make with simple strips of paper. * Love to Make *Mar 10 If you want to learn quilling and have a large range of projects of different types at your fingertips, then here is a book that might suit. This is a compendium volume containing four previous books by four different authors on quilling wild flowers, 3D decorations, miniatures and corners and borders. Notice that it does not include a book for beginners; there are projects here to entice the intermediate and even advanced quiller but there are also instructions on the basics. The projects themselves tend to be more suitable for those with at least some experience however, so I would advise the beginner to look elsewhere and save this one for later. There are some lovely things in here, from delicate Christmas tree angels and fairy table decorations to napkin rings adorned with autumn leaves and a kitchen memo board decorated with wild flowers. You can also find patterns to decorate cards, gift bags, pictures, boxes and more, many of which are nice chewy projects, involved and interesting. I think my own personal favorites are the 3D decorations for adorning trees and tables, and the tiny motifs on many topics that can be made into repeat borders at the end of the book. There is a lot in here to have fun with; a worthwhile addition to any papercrafter's keeper shelf. * Myshelf.com *Oct/Nov 10 Paper crafting is accessible and enjoyable for a vast range of ages and is a hobby which has recently come to the fore. Quilling enables crafters to create simple yet effective motifs that can be used to enhance greetings cards, gift boxes and other decorative items. Beautiful Quilling Step-by-step combines the knowledge and skills of four experienced paper crafters to produce the inspiration and know-how needed to create wonderful pieces. From flowers to fairies, chocolates to frogs, the book contains plenty of ideas and techniques to equip crafters with the skills to create complex pieces. Each of the projects is broken down by process and they are easy to follow. * craft focus *Apr 10 Quilling is fantastic fun – once you've tried it, you'll be hooked! This book has everything you need to start quilling, from a detailed guide to techniques and tools, full colour step-by-step projects and handy templates to help you along the way. You'll be amazed at the intricate designs you can make with simple paper strips and a nifty quilling tool. Look out for the adorable fairies with their curly paper hair, and the box of amazingly realistic quilled chocolates. Grab this book and get stuck into quilling! * Papercraft Inspirations *July 10 A compendium of quilling ideas and projects, this useful book is a brilliant guide to the traditional craft. It comes complete with handy step-by-stp illustrations, top tips and practical information on what kit to invest in. The designs range from adorable papercrafted poodles to home décor, including a stunning memo board which would add a little country charm to any kitchen.
