Karnac Books Jung: An Introduction
Book SynopsisThis book is an introduction to the ideas of the Swiss psychologist and psychoanalyst, C. G. Jung. The first chapter describes his early home life whilst subsequent chapters are devoted to his work in various sectors. This started in psychiatry at Burghölzli Hospital in Zürich, where Eugen Bleuler was the Director, a significant figure in Jung’s life for many years. The book goes on to describe at some length the professional relationship between Freud and Jung, and the disastrous impact of their subsequent acrimonious split in 1913 on themselves but, more importantly, on the profession of psychoanalysis itself, both at that time and subsequently. Several chapters elaborate Jung’s main concepts, including an extensive investigation of his all-important work on psychological alchemy, which includes 10 black and white illustrations from the alchemical text The Rosarium Philosophorum and 10 black and white ox-herding pictures of Kuo-an from the twelfth-century Buddhist tradition. The rest of the book depicts some of the significant women and men who contributed to analytical psychology, which is the term Jung chose to designate his psychoanalytic discipline. This is used interchangeably with the term psychoanalysis as many Jungians designate themselves psychoanalysts, including the author, as a New York State licensed psychoanalyst. This is also an account of some of the scientific, philosophical, and psychological influences on Jung’s thinking. The book concludes with an entry on China, where the author has spent the last few years analysing, lecturing, supervising, and teaching analytical psychology to Chinese psychotherapists, counsellors, and students in Beijing and Shanghai. This comprehensive work is essential reading for all those with an interest in C. G. Jung and his work.Trade ReviewCasement brings to this endeavour her significant international work as well as her impressive background of 55 years in our field. [...] This book, I believe, would be well received in introductory courses to analytical psychology; it also serves as a complementary work when reading about Jung, his life, and possibly even 'The Red Book'. [...] many will find it an asset in their learning and understanding of analytical psychology. I could see it being useful as part of the reading in undergraduate courses that explore depth psychology, as well as in graduate‐level training in social work, counselling, clinical psychology, and psychiatry. -- Robert Tyminski, C.G. Taylor & Francis Ltd A Jungian Approach to Spontaneous Drawing
Book SynopsisIn A Jungian Approach to Spontaneous Drawing, Patricia Anne Elwood provides an accessible and thought-provoking introduction to exploring spontaneous images, focusing on the value of this tool for insight into the unconscious. Illustrated with drawings of clients throughout, the book poignantly demonstrates how one can connect and access the spheres within through drawing, and how this process can reveal the unexpected.Elwood begins by accessibly introducing key Jungian concepts and exploring Jung's belief in the power of spontaneity as an invaluable tool in one's journey to the soul. As well as illuminating spontaneity, an oft-forgotten aspect of Jung's psychology, she explores themes including structure and dynamics, symbols and archetypal patterns.A Jungian Approach to Spontaneous Drawing also examines common motifs including houses, trees and people, and presents extended studies of work with children and adults and how their drawings relate and reveaTrade Review"This is a much-needed book on Image, Symbol, Jung and Therapy. Elwood’s style is very unique in a positive and readable way. The book is paradoxical - it's well anchored in theory, substantial on facts and method and yet poetic and meditative at the same time. Her style pulls the reader in and the reader stays to reflect. I found it to be such a rich experience. This book is an essential resource for analysts, mental health practitioners and graduate students in psychotherapy and art therapy." - John Allan, PhD, Professor Emeritus, University of British Columbia, Vancouver, Canada; Jungian analyst, and author of Inscapes of the Child's World: Jungian Counselling in Schools and Clinics"Patricia Elwood’s book invites the reader into the breath-taking creative world of C.G. Jung. Not only does the author offer a comprehensive, very readable, precis of the principal tenets of Jung’s analytical psychology, but at the same time Elwood offers an in-depth appreciation of spontaneous artwork. As the unconscious reveals the wealth of its images, the author leads the reader forward to a deeper understanding of their own self. This fine, insightful book is truly an encounter with the Soul. It is a gift to all explorers of the psyche and spiritual seekers." - Susan Tiberghien, lecturer and author, Writing Towards Wholeness "Following in the tradition of C.G. Jung and Susan Bach, the author demonstrates and explains incredible revelations to be discovered through spontaneous drawing: truly A Window to the Soul! Simple images of trees, houses, human and animal figures are shown to reveal inner dynamics, helping us to better understand the nature of the psyche and its influence on our ways of being."- Dr Robert Hinshaw, PhD, C. Taylor & Francis Trauma and Beyond
Book SynopsisIn this seminal work on the clinical, archetypal and spiritual dimension of trauma, the author offers a compelling vision of the transformative potential of suffering and the dialectic of Dying and Becoming. Wirtz outlines a healing path from fragmentation to integration and illuminates the resilience of the human spirit in the face of severe trauma. Trauma and Beyond will be essential reading and a valuable resource for counsellors, therapists and Jungian analysts who are challenged in their practice with individual and collective traumata.Trade Review"Wirtz courageously and brilliantly undertakes the most truculent question: ‘wither the soul after soul-murder?’. She summarizes the literature in the field, the range of methodologies, and provides numerous illustrations and case studies which demonstrate a realistic, hopeful, sequential approach to trauma integrating fragmented splinters. She illustrates the narrow passage between the necessity of ego-death, abiding a most difficult in-between, and attending the birth of an enlarged, more capacious ego state. Trauma and Beyond is not only a key contribution to the field, but has the makings of a classic study of the resilience of the soul in the face of even the most devastating traumata." – James Hollis, PhD; Jungian analyst and author"In an extraordinary synthesis of the diverse facets of the psyche activated in trauma, Wirtz truly offers the reader a way ‘beyond’ suffering into wisdom. A lifetime of experience is woven into a revelatory tapestry of heart and soul. Reflecting an emerging paradigm in the 21st century, science and spirituality are brought into kindred relations through the author’s courageous explorations of trauma. Anyone touched by trauma will benefit deeply from an encounter with this book." – Joe Cambray, PhD; past-President, IAAP"In this insightful work, Wirtz asks us to take Jung’s Red Book as a map or template for working with loss and trauma. If you are looking for guidance in clinical work in trauma and recovery or for guidance in your own recovery, you will find a treasure trove of riches here." – Polly Young-Eisendrath, PhD; author, The Resilient Spirit and Subject to Change"This profoundly moving book is a major contribution to Jungian studies in this field. Wirtz has a remarkable ability to seamlessly synthesize the spiritual, archetypal, and clinical aspects of trauma. Her wise reflections on the transformative potentials of trauma, and the meaning of the suffering it produces, are an inspiration. This book is required reading for any psychotherapist working in this field." – Lionel Corbett, MD; Pacifica Graduate Institute; author, Psyche and the Sacred and The Religious Function of the PsycheTable of ContentsIntroduction. Taylor & Francis Contemporary Voices on Individuation
Book SynopsisThis new collection of essays by a range of Jungian analysts and scholars seeks to address the concept of individuation in contemporary times, and reflects on its meaning within the 21st century. The concept of individuation is at the core of Analytical Psychology, and can be considered the main legacy of C.G. Book SynopsisDevelopments in Freudian psychoanalysis, particularly the work of Kohut and Winnicott, have led to a convergence with the Jungian position. In Individuation and Narcissism Mario Jacoby attempted to overcome the doctrinal differences between the different schools of depth psychology, while taking into account the characteristic approaches of each. Through a close examination of the actual experience of self, the process of individuation, narcissism and narcissistic personality disorder, Jacoby deftly demonstrated the benefits of a cross-fertilization of ideas and techniques for the professional analyst. Taylor & Francis Ltd Jungian ArtsBased Research and The Nuclear
Book SynopsisJungian Arts-Based Research and The Nuclear Enchantment of New Mexico provides clear, accessible and in-depth guidance both for arts-based researchers using Jung's ideas and for Jungian scholars undertaking arts-based research. The book provides a central extended example which applies the techniques described to the full text of Joel Weishaus' prose poem The Nuclear Enchantment of New Mexico, published here for the first time.Designed as a how-to book, Jungian Arts-Based Research and The Nuclear Enchantment of New Mexico explores how Jung contributes to the new arts-based paradigm in psychic functions such as intuition, by providing an epistemology of symbols that includes the unconscious, and research strategies such as active imagination. Rowland examines Jung's The Red Book as an early example of Jungian arts-based research and demonstrates how this practice challenges the convention of the detached researcher by providing holistic knowing. ATrade Review"Arts-based research claims to be transdisciplinary but lacks the methodological foundations. In this context, Jungian Arts-Based Research and "The Nuclear Enchantment of New Mexico" is a nice surprise. The practical and useful Chapter 6, The Nuclear Enchantment of New Mexico, blends science, religion, myth, history, poetry and anthropology. This book brings together Jung and arts-based research in the social sciences, showing them both to anticipate and require the methodology of transdisciplinarity." - Basarab Nicolescu, author of From Modernity to Cosmodernity"Rowland has done it again! Having brilliantly re-visioned Jung’s writing through the lenses of feminism, eco-psychology and literary theory, she now directs her scholarly gaze to arts-based research. The results are illuminating. It reveals Jungian psychology as a mode of poetic enquiry into being human. In so doing, Rowland offers arts-based researchers a fresh psychological perspective within which to frame their practice. This is an indispensable book for everyone engaged in understanding the human condition." - Dr Luke Hockley, UKCP, ADIP, FRSA; Professor of Media Analysis, University of Bedfordshire, UK"Arts-based research claims to be transdisciplinary but lacks the methodological foundations. Taylor & Francis Ltd The Roots of Jewish Consciousness Volume Two
Book SynopsisThe Roots of Jewish Consciousness, Volume Two: Hasidism is the second volume, fullyannotated, of a major, previously unpublished, two-part work by Erich Neumann (19051960). It was written between 1940 and 1945, after Neumann, then a young philosopher and physician and freshly trained as a disciple of Jung, fled Berlin to settle in Tel Aviv. He finished this work at the end of World War II. Although he never published it, he kept it the rest of his life.Volume Two, Hasidism, is devoted to the psychological and spiritual wisdom embodied in Jewish spiritual tradition. Relying on Jung's concepts and Buber's Hasidic interpretations, Neumann seeks alternatives to the legalism and anti-feminine bias that he says have dominated collective Judaism since the Second Temple. He argues that modern Jews can develop psychological wholeness through an appropriation of Hasidic legends, Talmudic texts, and Kabbalistic mysteries, including especially the Zohar. ExclusivelTrade Review"Erich Neumann is cited more than any single psychoanalytic writer in the ever-growing exploration of Kabbalah and psychology. So it is gratifying that his work on Kabbalah and Hasidism can now enrich this vibrant discussion. Neumann’s especial contribution is the development of the theme of dual transformation, of the world and of the soul, for Jewish mystical psychology, and highlighting the Hasidic move away from moralism towards radical embracing of the full range of psychic manifestation. This exquisitely crafted project will be of profound interest to all who are concerned with the religious life as such." - Professor Jonathan Garb, Gershom Scholem Chair in Kabbalah; Chair, Department of Jewish Thought, Hebrew University of Jerusalem, IsraelTable of ContentsList of Ilustrations; Foreword: On Erich Neumann and Hasidism, by Moshe Idel; Acknowledgments; Abbreviations; Introduction to Volume Two, by Ann Conrad Lammers; Hasidism: Its Psychological Meaning for Judaism; Chapter 1: The Structure of the World as Inwardness; Chapter 2: The Transformation of Souls; Chapter Three: Life in this World; Chapter Four: The Human Being and the New Image of God; Chapter Five: Hasidism and the Birth of the Modern Jew; Appendix A: Passages from the Zohar in English Translation; Appendix B: The Importance of Consciousness in the Experience of Depth Psychology (Four-lecture series, 1942-43); Editorial Note; Bibliography; Index; Scriptural Index.

Taylor & Francis Ltd Moral Injury and Beyond
Book SynopsisMoral Injury and Beyond: Understanding Human Anguish and Healing Traumatic Wounds uniquely brings together a prominent collection of international contributors from the fields of psychiatry, psychology, philosophy, theology, military chaplaincy and acute crisis care to address the phenomenon of moral injury. Introduced in the 1990s to refer to a type of psychological trauma, experienced especially by soldiers who felt that their actions transgressed the expected moral norms, this innovative volume provides a timely update that progresses and redefines the field of moral injury. The ten ground-breaking essays expand our understanding of moral injury beyond its original military context, arguing that it can fruitfully be applied to and address predicaments most persons face in their daily lives. Approaching moral injury from different perspectives, the contributors focus on the experiences of combat veterans and other survivors of violent forms of adversity. Taylor & Francis Energies and Patterns in Psychological Type
Book SynopsisThis book encapsulates John Beebeâs influential work on the analytical psychology of consciousness. Building on C. G. Jungâs theory of psychological types and on subsequent clarifications by Marie-Louise von Franz and Isabel Briggs Myers, Beebe demonstrates the bond between the eight types of consciousness Jung named and the archetypal complexes that impart energy and purpose to our emotions, fantasies, and dreams. For this collection, Beebe has revised and updated his most influential and significant previously published papers and has introduced, in a brand new chapter, a surprising theory of type and culture.Beebeâs model enables readers to take what they already know about psychological types and apply it to depth psychology. The insights contained in the fifteen chapters of this book will be especially valuable for Jungian psychotherapists, post-Jungian academics and scholars, psychological type practitioners, and type enthusiasts.Trade Review‘At last, the long awaited volume on Psychological Types by the preeminent analyst-scholar of Jung's typology, John Beebe, MD. This distillation of a lifetime's work by John Beebe is without parallel in the study of types. Emerging out of numerous, stellar presentations and publications, based on years of teaching, leading workshops and seminars around the globe, Energies and Patterns in Psychological Type: The Reservoir of Consciousness will richly reward readers fortunate enough to have obtained a copy. Jung's original vision is imagined forward into the fullness of a systemic, archetypally based, theory of consciousness, which in turn is complemented by diverse applications. Not only is model amplified with a range of clinical example, but it is masterfully applied to film, history and contemporary culture. If you wish to understand the depth and importance of psychological typology, this book is essential.’ - Joe Cambray, Ph.D., Provost Pacifica Graduate Institute; Past-President of the IAAP‘For years now, John Beebe has been clarifying and expanding Jung’s theory of type. In the articles gathered for this book, ranging from the historical to the practical, from the clinical to the social and political, he charts typological processes in which different kinds of consciousness spark and react in unexpected constellations moving towards wholeness and integrity. His psychotherapeutic system is precise and generous, his tone is firm and intelligently optimistic, and his arguments are hard-edged and crystal clear. In the field of Jungian typology, this is now the essential book.’ - Craig Stephenson, author of Possession: Jung’s Comparative Anatomy of the Psyche and Anteros: A Forgotten Myth‘This book should be required reading for all who use psychological type. John’s rich coverage of the historical and theoretical foundations and his powerful model of how we use all eight function-attitudes provide a strong foundation for using type well rather than with limiting stereotypes. His approach helps unlock development and increase well being. An added bonus comes in seeing the relevance of type for larger social issues and John’s personal examples.’ - Linda V. Berens, Ph.D., Typology Thought Leader, Author, and Organizational Consultant, USA‘Beebe’s excellent latest book traces the history and development of psychological type theory. Building on the work of Jung, von Franz and Myers, he introduces his own innovative model with its hierarchy of differentiation for the eight function-attitudes, the first four being in consciousness and the other four, shadow in attitude, largely unconscious. These eight differentiate themselves in the course of personal development, and Beebe has identified discrete archetypal figures that guide the way they are expressed within an individual’s psyche. These he illustrates with scenarios drawn from analysis of dreams and film characters. Boydell & Brewer Ltd The Spiritual Consciousness of Carmen Martín
Book SynopsisAn exploration of Spanish writer Carmen Martín Gaite's religious outlook through the inner journeys of five female characters. For Martín Gaite, a truly religious, or spiritual, perspective requires conscious attention to the products of the unconscious (dreams, images, memories, premonitions), followed by reflection and action, as well as a similar attentiveness and responsiveness to external events both large and small. This reconnection of the supernatural and day-to-day worlds also involves descent to the unconscious - the way to wholeness - as depicted in so many myths and fairy tales, including those which Martín Gaite used to retell or enhance the works analysed in this book: Sleeping Beauty, The Little Mermaid, Amor and Psyche, Demeter and Persephone, and the Descent of the Goddess Inanna. Looking at the extent to which these female characters attend to, reflect on, and respond to their dreams, images, memories and events, the analysis suggests that Martín Gaite uses her stories to try to communicate both the road to her own enlightenment and warnings about paths that lead away from this.Table of ContentsChapter 1: In Spirit and Truth Chapter 2: The Link has Broken: Matilde's Dream in El balneario Chapter 3: When the Meaning is Lost: Death and Life in Lo raro es vivir and Irse de casa Chapter 4: ¡Oh Inanna! Book SynopsisC. G. Jung: The Basics is an accessible, concise introduction to the life and ideas of C. G. Jung for readers of all backgrounds, from those new to Jung's work to those looking for a convenient reference.Ruth Williams eloquently and succinctly introduces the key concepts of Jungian theory and paints his biographical picture with clarity. The book begins with an overview of Jung's family life, childhood, and relationship with (and subsequent split from) Sigmund Freud. Williams then progresses thematically through the key concepts in his work, clearly explaining ideas including the unconscious, the structure of the psyche, archetypes, individuation, psychological types and alchemy. C. G. Jung: The Basics also presents Jung's theories on dreams and the self, and explains how his ideas developed and how they can be applied to everyday life. The book also discusses some of the negative claims made about Jung, especially his ideas on politics, race, and gendeTrade Review"More than ever we need Jung, whose intuitions are proving indispensable to understanding and interacting with the twentyfirst century, from issues of globalism and ecological crisis, to the challenges of living with technology. Jung: the Basics offers excellent starting points for complete beginners or for those seeking fresh psychological perspectives on history, modernity, symbolism, spirituality, the arts, creative practice and our relationships to each other and the planet. Suitable for clinicians in training and students of disciplines from the humanities to the social sciences, this book brings an important resource into accessible and exciting perspective for our times." - Susan Rowland (Ph.D.) is Chair of MA Engaged Humanities and the Creative Life at Pacifica Graduate Institute, and teaches on the doctoral program in Jungian psychology and Archetypal Studies. This is what Ruth Williams has brilliantly given us in relation to the work of C.G. Jung, analytical psychology, Jungian analysis and Jungian Studies. Her book is accessible, beautifully structured and presented. She really knows her way around the Jungian world and can play the role of guide with consummate ease.’ - From the Foreword by Andrew Samuels, Professor of Analytical Psychology, University of Essex"Ruth Williams discusses the unconscious, the structure of the psyche, the archetypes, and individuation, as well as psychological types, dreams, alchemy, and the vexed question of Jung's political engagement in a way that will, I hope, encourage the reader to look more closely at what Jung has to offer us in the twenty-first century. There are many different ways in which to approach Jung: through his indebtedness to German culture, for instance, or through applying his conceptual tools in the field of literary criticism or film studies, or through studying the institutional development of analytical psychology and the personalities involved in the Jungian movement. What is valuable about the account offered in this book is that it provides an overview of the ‘basics’ of Jungian thought in a way that is both helpful and clear. Jung once described the second part of Goethe’s Faust as ‘a link in the aurea catena’ — i.e., the Golden or Homeric Chain — ‘which has existed from the beginnings of philosophical alchemy and Gnosticism down to Nietzsche’s Zarathustra’; in engaging with this material Jung found that it was ‘unpopular, ambiguous, and dangerous’, and he believed he had embarked on ‘a voyage of discovery to the other pole of the world’. As one embarks on one’s own journey into Jung, it is good to have a guide such as this in one’s hands." - Paul Bishop, William Jacks Chair of Modern Languages at the University of Glasgow, UK; co-editor of The Ecstatic and the Archaic (Routledge)"More than ever we need Jung, whose intuitions are proving indispensable to understanding and interacting with the twentyfirst century, from issues of globalism and ecological crisis, to the challenges of living with technology. Taylor & Francis Ltd Jung on Astrology
Jung on Astrology brings together C. G. Jung's thoughts on astrology in a single volume for the first time, significantly adding to our understanding of Jung's work.Jung's Collected Works, seminars, and letters contain numerous discussions of this ancient divinatory system, and Jung himself used astrological horoscopes as a diagnostic tool in his analytic practice. Understood in terms of his own psychology as a symbolic representation of the archetypes of the collective unconscious, Jung found in astrology a wealth of spiritual and psychological meaning and suggested it represents the sum of all the psychological knowledge of antiquity. The selections and editorial introductions by Safron Rossi and Keiron Le Grice address topics that were of critical importance to Jungsuch as the archetypal symbolism in astrology, the precession of the equinoxes and astrological ages, astrology as a form of synchronicity and acausal correspondence, the qual

Sounds True Inc Motherhood: Facing and Finding Yourself
Book SynopsisMotherhood is the true hero's journey-which is to say that it can be as harrowing as it is joyful, and enlightening as it is exhausting. For Jungian psychoanalyst Lisa Marchiano, this journey is not just an adventure of diaper bags and parent-teacher conferences, but one of intense self-discovery. In Motherhood, Marchiano draws from a deep well of Jungian analysis and symbolic research to present a collection of fairytales, myths, and fables that evoke the spiritual arc of raising a child from infancy through adulthood. After all, this kind of storytelling has always been one of the most important conduits of humanity's collective wisdom-and Marchiano provides each tale alongside keen insights into the timeless archetypes they represent. Divided into three major segments similar to the stages of a hero's initiatory journey, (Descent, Sojourn, and Return), Motherhood charts how events like pregnancy, the calamities of childhood, and the empty-nest experience are all parts of an odyssey to which every mother receives an invitation. Here Marchiano emphasizes that when you take up that invitation, it will lead to an adventure into the wild frontier of your own soul. And once you return from this inner journey, you'll possess the treasured knowledge need to clarify your values, embrace your disowned parts, and claim the mantle of motherhood in the full bloom of your empowerment.

Sounds True Inc Living Between Worlds: Finding Personal
Book SynopsisWhat guides us when our world is changing? Discover the path to deeper meaning and purpose through depth psychology. What makes the challenges of our time so unique and daunting in human history? Technology? Resource depletion? In Living Between Worlds, Dr. James Hollis challenges us to look within for the real cause. “Few of our ancestors, if any, became enemies of themselves as we do; few split themselves off from their internal forms of guidance,” he explains. “We can serve the drives for power, wealth, status, whatever, but we cannot create meaning. Meaning is a by-product of being in right relationship to our soul.” Dr. Hollis’s readers know him as a penetrating thinker who brings profound insight and sophistication to the inner journey. In Living Between Worlds, he broadens his lens to encompass the relationship between our inner struggles and the rapidly shifting realities of modern human existence. This is not a journey that will yield easy answers or pat reassurances. Yet by invoking the guidance of depth psychology, classical literature, philosophy, and myth, you will gain access to resources of purpose, courage, and hope that transcend time and circumstance. “We will always live in in-between times,” Hollis teaches. “Perhaps we may drop our plumb line into those same guiding currents which ran through the souls of the ancients . . . and run through ours as well.”

Daimon Verlag C.G. Jung: Letters to Hedy Wyss (1936 - 1956)
Book SynopsisC.G. Jung''s letters to the artist and analysand Hedy Wyss, published here for the first time, are a unique testimony to Jung''s vivid and sparkling spirit. Here we encounter the lively, compassionate and deeply human side of Jung''s nature. He writes neither scientifically nor cautiously, but quite spontaneously out of his respective state of mind. He mentions his suffering from various physical ailments to Hedy Wyss, such as heart troubles and rheumatism. At the same time he struggles for the integrity of the analytical relationship and the veracity of love. Jung wrote his most important works during the twenty years of their correspondence, concluding with Mysterium Coniunctionis. Accordingly, in many of his letters to Hedy Wyss, hidden references to the problems he wrestled with at any given time can be found throughout these works. As a result, the content of Jung''s letters required a comprehensive commentary. Alongside Jung''s works, a private manuscript written by Hedy Wyss, in which, years after his death, she looked back on her encounters with C.G. or the Old Sage as she liked to call him, furthered understanding of many details in the letters. These sources give us a unique insight into C.G. Jung''s singular approach as a researcher and analyst.

Book SynopsisThis original volume explores Jungâs earliest English seminars, held in 1919 and 1920, in relation to the impact of Liber Novus and The Red Book and his new exoteric and esoteric concepts of analytical psychology created during the Great War.The groundbreaking seminars presented in the book yield important insights about Jungâs application of analytical methods and the psychological concepts he developed in response to his confrontation with the unconscious, recorded in Liber Novus and in his Collected Papers on Analytical Psychology, edited by Dr. Constance Long, one of his first English analysands and colleagues. The English seminars illuminate the extent to which Jung shared, or alluded to, material from Liber Novus and The Red Book, supported by evidence from Longâs journal which contains a wealth of additional material about Jungâs method of supervision, views on transference, her own analysis, and the eventual break-up of the Lo
