Schiffer Publishing Ltd Glory Days
Book SynopsisGlory Days is the untold story of an airplane and its brave flyers who valiantly served our nation in time of war. The two EB-66 equipped combat squadrons flying from bases in Thailand against North Vietnam earned the Presidential Unit Citation for valor in combat, numerous Outstanding Unit Awards with V-device, and equivalent U.S. Navy citations. EB-66 flyers earned Silver Stars and Distinguished Flying Crosses for heroism, Air Medals galore, and too many Purple Hearts attesting to their courage and sacrifice. This then is their gripping story untold for far too long.

Book SynopsisStoried pilot Homer Stockert, born in Churubusco, Indiana, won air races in Fort Wayne in the 1920s, earning him legendary fame while only in his twenties. In 1933, he established the Stockert Flying Service at Bendix Field, South Bend, Indiana, an airport built by entrepreneur Vincent Bendix. After serving as a test pilot of the P-47 Thunderbolt fighter aircraft in Evansville, Indiana, during World War II, Stockert returned to Bendix Field to expand his flying service with his business-savvy wife, Dora. Stockert led a successful life of leadership in private aviation until his death in 1971.

Schiffer Publishing Ltd Death from Above
Book SynopsisThe 7th Bombardment Group was one of the few bombardment groups in the Army Air Corps active during the 1930s. From its activation in 1929 to the attack on Pearl Harbor, the Group flew all major types of Army Air Corps bombardment aircraft and participated in numerous exercises and annual maneuvers, helping to perfect the tactics of daylight precision bombing. During World War II, the 7th Bomb Group carried out strategic bombing operations in a theater of war far different from what the pre-war doctrine had envisioned. Units of the Group were present at the attack on Pearl Harbor and were still flying combat missions at the very end of the war, making the Group one of the longest serving combat units of the Army Air Force. Flying B-17 Flying Fortresses out of Java in the desperate early days of 1942, the Group moved to India to become part of the Tenth Air Force. Beginning combat operations in April 1942, the 7th Bomb Group converted to the B-24 Liberator and continued to fly missions

Schiffer Publishing Ltd United States Navy and Marine Corps Aviation
Book SynopsisThis is the only work covering the history and lineage of Marine Attack squadrons, from the date of their activation forward, until their deactivation, or the present. Thoroughly researched, it has a complete, extensive bibliography, and the illustrations of the insignia are almost entirely from originals. Many of the photographs have never been published, and many are from the extensive photo archives of Northrup-Grumman. Historically accurate, yet lacking the dry recitation of names, dates, and facts found in other historical works, this very readable book is written to be enjoyed from cover to cover.

Book SynopsisIsrael acquired sixty-one Dassault Mystere IVA combat aircraft from France that were delivered to the Israeli Air Force from April to September 1956 and were issued to two units: Squadron 101 at Hatzor, in the south, and Squadron 109 at Ramat David, in the north. From 1956 until 1959, and to a lesser extent from 1959 until 1962, the Mystere was the ILAF''s cutting-edge interceptor. From 1959, the Mystere''s main mission shifted from air-to-air to air-to-ground, as more modern interceptorsSuper Mystere from 1959 and Mirage from 1962entered Israeli Air Force service. At the same time, the Israeli Air Force initiated an effort to introduce an attack aircraft to succeed the Mystere. The Squadron 109 Mystere era therefore covered mostly air-to-air from 1956 until 1962 and mostly air-to-ground from 1962 until 1968.

Schiffer Publishing Ltd Douglas XB19
Book SynopsisIn 1935, the intent of the Army Air Corps was to build a potential intercontinental bomber, a Guardian of the Hemisphere; they granted Donald Douglas a contract to build the world's largest bomber. Over the past 75 years, there have only been a few magazine articles on the gigantic Douglas XB-19 bomber, usually showing it in photos dwarfing the aircraft around it. Since the XB-19 project was top secret and there was only one example, there is little information remaining for researchers. William Wolf presents this enigmatic bomber, a Flying Laboratory that was the precursor to America's first intercontinental bomber, the Continental B-36 Peacemaker. Wolf has used original Douglas and Army Air Force documents and very rare (as few were needed for one bomber) Erection & Maintenance Manuals in this history, which also includes never-seen-before photos and color profiles. This volume is a must for the aviation historian, enthusiast, and modeler.

Schiffer Publishing Ltd Lockheed C130 and Its Variants
Book SynopsisTrade ReviewThe Lockheed C-130 Hercules is a true legend of the air. It is in production since 1955 and indeed no replacement is on the horizon, as testified by the recent orders placed by French and German air forces for C-130J, despite these users have the Airbus A400M in line too! This nice and well-illustrated book tells the fascinating story of this rugged and extremely versatile cargo plane, especially the least known electronic warfare variants and the test beds ones. This 2nd edition is updated with the C-130J and operational records till to 2017. - Marco De Montis, freelance aerospace journalist July 2018

Book SynopsisThis is a revised and expanded second edition that examines United States Navy patrol and bombing squadrons equipped with the Consolidated B-24 Liberator (PB4Y-1) and its successor, the Consolidated-Vultee PB4Y-2 Privateer. The author's previous book, We Flew Alone, discussed the Navy's use of the B-24 Liberator from February 1943 to September 1944. He now examines in dramatic detail the use of the B-24 and PB4Y-2 during the last eleven months of the war against Japan. The author has collected personal stories, over 300 images, a tabulation of all aerial kills credited to PB4Y patrol plane commanders, a roster of all personnel killed in action or in the line of duty, individual squadron records, and a list of all known B-24 Liberators and PB4Y-2 Privateers assigned to the Pacific between 1943 and 1945.
