G&D Media 30 Days to a More Powerful Vocabulary: The 500

    1 in stock

Book SynopsisA Bigger Vocabulary = A Brighter Future. Words. They''re the foundation of nearly everything of value in our world. They have the power to create and the power to destroy. The power to inspire and to terrify. The power to enlighten and also to obscure. And, more specifically for you, they have the power to attract wealth and success and guarantee your brighter future. This is not hyperbole - it is based on rock-solid research. Studies show that those people with large vocabularies are smarter, wealthier, and happier than the average person - and substantially so. And here''s the best news of all: a large vocabulary is not tied to your social status, your genes, or even your education level. It is a skill that can be learned - and it takes only 30 days. In this cutting-edge program, 30 Days to a More Powerful Vocabulary, personal development expert and English enthusiast Dan Strutzel will instruct, enlighten, and inspire you with a concentrated 30-day program that will teach you over 500 words. But, more than teaching you these words, the uniquely designed program will ensure that these words become a habit-knit part of your life - and with minimal effort on your part. Best of all, research shows that learning new words has an exponential effect on the size of your vocabulary - since learning one word naturally produces an association between two to three more words. In short, after reading and applying the system in this 30-day program, you will not only have a bigger vocabulary - you will have a brighter future! Here''s just a sampling of what you''ll learn: The 10 myths about building a dynamic vocabulary The secret behind the exponential effect of vocabulary building A 30-day program designed to maximize learning and comprehension of over 500 words The words you need to know about money and financial issues The words you need to know about persuading others The words you need to know about marriage, parenting, and other relationships The words you need to know about science The words you need to know to be a great conversationalist Why building a large, dynamic vocabulary is even more valuable in the digital age And much more!

Book SynopsisIncludes At Your Command, Freedom For All and Out of This WorldNeville Goddard was one of the quietly dramatic and supremely influential teachers in the "new thought" field for many years. He spoke of God in intimate terms as though he knew God very well, which he did. He taught that instead of searching on the outside for answers to our questions, all we need to do is look within. Many people have the ability to observe an event before it occurs. Therefore, in the three dimensions of space, life on Earth must proceed according to plan. This plan must exist elsewhere in another dimension and be slowly moving through our space. In the immensely practical work, At Your Command, you'll receive a complete understanding of Neville''s method for using the true nature of your imaginative powers of creativity as he succinctly lays out his ideas with ease, and total practicality.Neville discloses his extraordinary and testable claim that your awakened imagination is God Itself. Drawn from Neville''s own mystical illumination, Freedom for All reveals the truth buried within the stories of the Bible. Briefly, the book states that consciousness is the one and only reality...that consciousness is the cause and manifestation is the effect. In Out of This World, Neville Goddard poses the question: "Are we able to alter our future?" Today, probably more than ever before, man demands proof of the truth of even his highest ideal. For his ultimate satisfaction he must find a principle, which is for him a way of life, a principle which he can experience as true. In the past decade the visionary work of Neville Goddard (1905-1972) has attained spectacular popularity. A new generation of readers is discovering and testing Neville''s core principle: imagining creates reality.

    Agenda Publishing The Gig Economy

Book SynopsisThe “gig economy” is a relatively recent term coined to describe a range of working arrangements that have previously been denoted as precarious, flexible and contingent. These may include casual workers, temporary agency workers, those on zero-hours contracts and dependent contractors. This books seeks to get behind the contemporary buzz surrounding the term and provide some theoretical and empirical analysis of the gig work phenomenon. The book seeks to assess more critically some of the rhetorical claims made about gig work and to provide a balanced appraisal of the ramifications for individuals, employers and the economy and society in general of an increasingly insecure workforce. The regulatory framework, in particular, is examined and is shown to have lagged behind crucial developments in the gig economy, with many labour laws still historically rooted to the notion that a worker has to be an employee to be covered by employment rights. The authors show that in many respects there is nothing new about the gig economy and that its growth in recent years was in some sense predictable. Perhaps its real significance, they argue, is its potential as a business model to “gig-ize” other business operations far beyond relatively low-skilled work. When combined with automation and digitalization, the gig economy presents us with an opportunity to re-evalute our understanding of the nature of work.Table of Contents1. Introduction2. Theorizing the gig economy3. Working in the gig economy: international trends4. Regulation and the lived experience of the gig economy5. Book SynopsisIs entrepreneurial success atrributed to intelligence or is it just sheer luck? How do you manage the creative people you depend on in your team? A 33-year-old entrepreneur who has made over $580 million offers his wise and witty answer in this guide to building a successful business. Lucky or Smart? is the first truly authentic guide to an entrepreneurial life, written by someone who lives it everyday. Bo Peabody started an Internet company as a 19-year-old student. It helped change the way we communicate by providing the average person with the means to create their own home page. Peabody sold his business to Lycos for nearly $60 million. At the first possible moment, he sold - right before the Internet crash. Thus, the question at the heart of this book: is Bo Peabody lucky or smart? Peabody says he was smart enough to realize he was being lucky, but along the way he discovered what is essential to entrepreneurial success: you have to know if you are an entrepreneur or a manager; you have to know how to manage the creative and often difficult people in your business; and you need to make your business fundamentally innovative, morally compelling, and philosophically positive.
