Trade ReviewVery well presented book with excellent photography and clear instruction.
Yes, you would need to buy some tools but if you wished to progress with cake decorating as a hobby you would need them regardless.
Excellent book to kick start a great new hobby.

This book is a gem! Great, easy to understand step by step instructions, with lots of lovely photos. I have already made one of the projects and it turned out really well, (and even looked like the picture in the book!) A great book if you are new, or even experienced in cake decorating.

The first thing to mention is that this book contains material from previous Search Press books, so if you own 'Painting Flowers on Cakes', 'Stencilling on Cakes', 'Using Cutters on Cakes' or 'Piping on Cakes' this might not be the book for you.
The book is well illustrated and contains many helpful hints and tips but many of the projects seem to need a lot of equipment suggesting it is aimed at bakers with some experience rather than complete beginners. The authors have given permission for the projects in the book to be used for selling for charity which is a nice touch.

I love this book. It is a great step by step guide to cake decorating for beginners or advanced cake decorating. The cake designs are modern and there’s something for all occasions. So many new skills and techniques.
Brilliant book.

There are some lovely designs for cakes in this book, but extra specialist equipment is required for most designs that the usual amateur home baker may not have in their cupboard, e.g. stencils, brushes, moulds etc. There are a couple of designs in this book that I have seen before in other books, but if you are new to cake decorating books this one contains a range of skills to try so may be good for a starter book.

This is a useful guide for beginners with easy to follow step-by-step instructions and photos. Lots of different techniques featured but you will need to buy additional materials to get started with most ideas. There is a useful guide for the materials you will need and handy templates in the back of the book.
