Critical Rural Theory is an attempt to bring together the concepts of structure, space, and culture in order to explain the relationship between rural communities and urban society. The overarching theme revolves around the many ways-structural, spatial, and cultural-in which urban systems create and maintain a hegemonic relationship with rural areas and people. Central to this theme is the concept of urbanormativity: the cultural assumption of the dominance and superiority of urban communities and patterns of life. Urbanormativity is an outgrowth of the structural forces in an urban society that favor the interests of cities over those of the countryside, of a generally exploitative relationship between the two. The structure of a society is encoded in the settlement space, which in turn influences one's experience. The experience of social space produces cultural dynamics that are reproduced from generation to generation. These mechanisms are explored through popular culture, physical patterns of urban expansion, and historical patterns of social change.

For the last two centuries, the nation state has posed a formidable challenge to multinational empires. It has served as a base for modernisation, secularisation and democratisation -- and also for the formation of totalitarian regimes. Today, the nation state faces challenges from multiple directions. National minorities demand self-determination while religious forces challenge secular governments, and global migration movements undermine the cultural uniformity once considered essential for the formation and preservation of nation states. This is the third of a three-volume set (detailed below) which addresses key challenges facing the contemporary nation state from a global perspective but with special emphasis on the Middle East and Israel. Seit der Spätantike stellt die Migration in Europa eine Normalität dar und ist Gegenstand von bewusstem wie auch unbewusstem Wandel. So sind europäische Gesellschaften stetig inhomogene und sich wandelnde Formationen. Der Wandel durch Migration steht im Spannungsfeld zwischen Anpassung, Identitätssuche und Identitätswahrung. Dabei spielt Religion und religiöser Wandel als Faktor von gesellschaftlichem Wandel eine bedeutende Rolle. Der Staat dagegen vertritt eine ambivalente Position zwischen ökonomischen (Entwicklungs-) Interessen, gesellschaftlicher Organisation und allgemeiner Akzeptanz. Die europäischen Gesellschaften erweisen sich als multipolare, kulturelle Mischgebilde mit gebrochenen Identitätsstrukturen, deren bedeutender Teil der Religionsfaktor ist. Umso stärker scheinen Migrationsbewegungen einerseits, amorphe Grenzziehungszwänge und Kulturempfinden andererseits in einem Spannungsverhältnis zueinander zu stehen, das durch den Religionsfaktor dynamisiert wird. Für unterschiedliche Epochen der vormodernen Geschichte Europas wird daher den Wechselwirkungen religiös motivierter Mobilität auf die Migranten wie auch die Aufnahmegesellschaften interdisziplinär nachgespürt. This book deals with the fundamental laws of passing of fast liquid-phase chemical as well as heat and mass transfer processes in turbulent flows. The fundamental laws of passing of fast liquid-phase chemical and also heat and mass transfer processes in turbulent flows are considered in the book. Development of a macrokinetics approach is generalized to the analysis of fast chemical reactions mainly based on an example of cationic isobutylene polymerization, which falls into to a new class of liquid-phase processes. The ways of decision of the hydrodynamical, thermal and kinetic movement’s equations of reaction mixture in which the fast exothermic chemical reaction runs are described. The principles and laws of formation of the essentially new mode of quasi-plug-flow mode are considered in turbulent flows ensuring quasi-isothermal conditions in zone reaction. The principles of work and area of industrial use of tubular turbulent devices cylindrical reactor, divergent-covergent reactor, shell-and-tube reactor, and reactor with fractional introduction of reactants are considered.
