The study is a result of a collaborative research project addressing “The Implementation of the New Insolvency Regulation – Improving Cooperation and Mutual Trust”. The project was undertaken by the Max Planck Institute Luxembourg for Procedural Law, the University of Vienna and the University of Milan, and co-funded by the European Union as part of the Commission’s Action Grants 2013 for Civil Justice. The focus of the study concerns specific issues of cross-border insolvencies under the recast of the Insolvency Regulation which already has been prepared by a large part of the contributing authors in the Heidelberg-Vienna-Luxembourg Report. The study is comprised of three major topics: 1.The Regulation’s extended scope of application, including pre-insolvency and hybrid proceedings, the relationship between Article 1(1) of the Regulation and its Annex A, as well as the interplay between the Insolvency Regulation and the Brussels Ibis Regulation; 2.the cooperation between main and secondary insolvency proceedings, the new instruments, such as “synthetic proceedings”, destined to avoid or postpone the opening of secondary proceedings, further the cooperation between administrators and courts of different proceedings as well as protocols to enhance cooperation; 3.insolvencies of groups of companies, with a particular focus on jurisdiction, COMI-migration, “group coordination proceedings” and other instruments of coordination.

At his peerless laboratory in Orange, New Jersey, he directed assistants working in parallel on multiple projects. These included the "perfected" phonograph; a major but little-recognized effort to make musical recordings for sale; the start of work on motion pictures; and improvements in the recovery of low-grade iron ore. He also pursued a public "War of the Currents" against electrical rival George Westinghouse. Keenly attuned to manufacturing as a way to support the laboratory financially and control his most iconic products, Edison created a new cluster of factories. He kept his manufacturing rights to the phonograph while selling the underlying patents to an outside investor in a deal he would regret. When market pressures led to the consolidation of Edison lighting interests, he sold his factories to the new Edison General Electric Company. In November 2008, an ICREA/ESF Exploratory Workshop on the subject of late Roman fine wares was held in Barcelona, the main aim being the clarification of problems regarding the typology and chronology of the three principal table wares found in Mediterranean contexts (African Red Slip Ware, Late Roman C and Late Roman D). The discussion highlighted the need to undertake a similar approach for other ceramic classes across the Mediterranean provinces. In addition, it was perceived that ceramic studies are often dispersed and in such a variety of publications that it is difficult to follow progress in this vast field. Therefore, a series devoted to Roman and late Antique pottery in the Mediterranean was proposed to serve as a reference point for all potential authors devoted to pottery studies on a pan-Mediterranean basis. The creation of such a series would not only serve as a means of publishing the results of the ICREA/ESF workshop but also as a network for publication of in-depth monographs devoted to archaeological ceramics of the Mediterranean in the Roman and late Antique periods.
