CFC Farm Prod. In Paint We Trust
This book, illustrated with rare and original documents, tells the story of FARM PROD, a Brussels collective of cosmopolitan street artists. About 20 years ago, a few graphic communication students decided to share a working and living space by settling in an isolated farmhouse that would soon become a buzzing hive of creativity. This was the birth of one of the most original formations in urban art in recent years. From squats to artists'' studios, we follow the progress of a close-knit team capable of regularly reinventing itself to meet the challenges of an artistic career that moves from spontaneous art to official commissions, without ever losing its singular aesthetic, its sense of friendship or its taste for celebration.Text in English and French.

CFC Adrien Lucca. Parallel universes
For nearly 15 years, Adrien Lucca has been interested in colour and light, and the way we perceive them. His tools are natural or artificial light, pigments, everyday objects, glass, etc., which he uses in formats ranging from drawings to monumental installations. His approach, which straddles the line between art and science, offers a real experience of research as well as perception. What colour do we see? What modifies it? Through this exploration, he questions our sense of reality, and opens up a real questioning of our gaze.Since 2009, Adrien Lucca (born 1983 in Paris) has been developing a multidisciplinary work around colour and light that questions our perception of the physical world. In search of practical means of action to develop aesthetic experiments, he has set up a research and production laboratory where he conceives his works autonomously at the intersection of art and science. Adrien Lucca lives and works in Brussels, Belgium.Text in English an

CFC Jot Fau. They are broken They still work
First retrospective book of the artist Jot Fau, in the collection L'Impatient, a collection that welcomes the first books of artists, which anchor them in the present and the impatience of a future. They are broken, they still work''. The title of this recent work by Jot Fau could in itself sum up her practice. In her work there is a taste for things that remain, for nostalgic states and buried wounds. There is also strength and vulnerability, gentleness and resistance, and a soul that surrounds the bodies.- Coline Davenne, Montrouge Art fairJot Fau explores the theme of identity, in its most shifting form. She gathers memories, snippets, images, thanks to which she composes narratives, clothes, installations of real or fictitious identities intersect, assemble and settle. In this way, the artist reveals the fragility of our constructions, as much as she reassures us thanks to the care she attaches to each element, with a protective softness.Text in English

Humana Press Inc. Breast Cancer in the Post-Genomic Era
Breast Cancer is the most common tumor in women and the second leading cause of cancer deaths worldwide. Due to breakthroughs in gene profiling, the knowledge of the pathophysiology of the mammary gland had greatly increased over the last decade. In Breast Cancer in the Post Genomic Era, Antonio Giordano, Nicola Normanno, and a panel of international authorities in their field provide a comprehensive approach to the biology, diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of human breast carcinoma. The book provides a comprehensive approach to breast cancer, describing the use of gene profiling techniques to distinguish specific features of individual carcinomas, as well as emerging novel therapeutic approaches to treatment. Additional chapters cover the use of transgenic mice to model human breast cancer and the role of the EGF-CFC family in mammary gland development and neoplasia. Breast Cancer in the Post Genomic-Era succeeds in looking at breast cancer pathogenesis, diagnosis, and treatment under a more comprehensive light, and is a valuable resource for any Radiation or Surgical Oncologist, Cancer Biologist or Pathologist.

Edward Elgar Publishing Ltd Time Strategies, Innovation and Environmental Policy
This book is the first attempt to systematically introduce the aspect of time into economic and environmental innovation policy. The authors demonstrate how 'windows of opportunity' for technological innovations emerge and also explain how they can be identified and effectively exploited. Technological innovations are widely considered as an opportunity to realise a double dividend - protect the environment and increase profits by introducing a more sustainable technology. However, intervention by the state is often needed to overcome the competitive disadvantage caused by externalities, path dependency and lock-in. The authors provide extensive evidence that this resistance to technological change is subject to substantial temporal variation. They argue that it is economically and politically sensible to identify periods of time in which resistance is weakest and to exploit these 'windows of opportunity' whenever and wherever they occur. They also highlight how time strategies for innovation policy can involve the preparation and creation of 'windows' which do not yet exist. Throughout the book, they use an array of varied and interesting case studies to confirm and illustrate their theoretical findings. These address issues such as CFC phase-out, the lean-burn engine versus the catalytic converter, ecological alternatives to chemical pesticides and the zero emission vehicle mandate in California. By exploring the relationship between time strategies and technological change, this book will undoubtedly lead to a more efficient and sustainable innovation policy. It will be required reading for academics, researchers and policymakers working in the fields of environmental innovation, sustainability, technology policy and political science.
