This book is a collection of essays presented at the conference on "Sustaining Ethical Leadership: An Interdisciplinary Conversation", Ottawa, Canada, 2009. The driving idea behind the conference was to encourage an interdisciplinary enquiry regarding the nature of ethical leadership in contemporary times and to work out its implications in various domains of human life and action. Contributors examine the concept of ethical leadership from different intellectual and philosophical standpoints, and provide with an insightful analysis. This first volume of the final publication of the results of the Belgian Mission to Shanhur concerns the decoration of the inner rooms of the temple, and most notably of the sanctuary (built in the time of Augustus) and the wabet (decorated under Caligula). All decoration is presented in facsimile and photograph. The commentary discusses earlier theories on the theology of the temple. The temple is shown not to be a border temple between the spheres of influence of the temples of Thebes and Coptos, but to have been dominated by theological ideas of Coptite extraction. The main goddess (Isis, and not 'the Great Goddess', as was previously assumed) occurs in a fourfold form. This seems to be a reflection of the tendency of conceiving of deities in four complementary aspects, the best known instance being the cult of Hathor Quadrifrons.

The Old Greek of Isaiah represents an intriguing and complex unity within the Septuagint. The present volume contains contributions reflecting a variety of issues pertaining to this version, and also offers perspectives for further research. The topics dealt with can be designated as follows: terminology and vocabulary, unity of the book, rhetorical figures, coherence on the level of a pericope, theology, and hermeneutics (fulfilment interpretation). The Greek version is of course compared with the supposed parent text in Hebrew, but several contributions also show a strong interest in the Greek text as it stands. As to the latter approach the following aspects play an important role: the immediate context (verse; pericope), style, the meaning and function of words and phrases, and related texts. In order to stimulate further research, the volume also offers a full bibliography on LXX Isaiah.
