Indiana University Press Re-viewing Fascism: Italian Cinema, 1922-1943
When Benito Mussolini proclaimed that "Cinema is the strongest weapon," he was telling only half the story. In reality, very few feature films during the Fascist period can be labeled as propaganda. Re-viewing Fascism considers the many films that failed as "weapons" in creating cultural consensus and instead came to reflect the complexities and contradictions of Fascist culture. The volume also examines the connection between cinema of the Fascist period and neorealism—ties that many scholars previously had denied in an attempt to view Fascism as an unfortunate deviation in Italian history. The postwar directors Luchino Visconti, Roberto Rossellini, and Vittorio de Sica all had important roots in the Fascist era, as did the Venice Film Festival. While government censorship loomed over Italian filmmaking, it did not prevent frank depictions of sexuality and representations of men and women that challenged official gender policies. Re-viewing Fascism brings together scholars from different cultural and disciplinary backgrounds as it offers an engaging and innovative look into Italian cinema, Fascist culture, and society.

Prestel Surrealism and Magic: Enchanted Modernity
Like no other 20th-century movement, Surrealism was keenly inspired by tropes of magic, myth and the occult. In their engagement with the irrational and the unconscious, numerous of its members looked to magic as a poetic and deeply philosophical discourse, related to both arcane knowledge and individual self-empowerment. In their works, they heavily drew on esoteric symbols and cultivated the image of the artist as a magician, visionary, and alchemist. This catalog explores the myriad ways, in which magic and the occult informed the development of the Surrealist movement in international perspective, from the “metaphysical paintings” of Giorgio de Chirico through to works of the post-war period. Lavishly illustrated, it combines longer research essays with focused chapter introductions, all penned by leading scholars in the field. Amongst the many fascinating artists included in the volume are Victor Brauner, Leonora Carrington, Paul Delvaux, Salvador Dalí, Max Ernst, Leonor Fini, René Magritte, Roberto Matta, Kay Sage, Kurt Seligmann, Dorothea Tanning, Yves Tanguy, and Remedios Varo.

Taschen GmbH The Bigger Book of Breasts
The Big Book of Breasts was an immediate best seller when it debuted in 2006. Its 396 pages introduced readers to the top naturally bountiful nude models of the 1950s, ’60s and ’70s, amazingly mammiferous beauties including Virginia Bell, Roberta Pedon, Mary Waters, Keli Stewart and many more. The one and only complaint was that there was no biographical information on these curvaceous cuties, no lists of their magazines and films to give readers a more intimate connection. We listened, and The Bigger Book of Breasts answers! Not only are there more pages with all new photos of your favorite big breast models of the ’50s through ’70s, there are also personal profiles for each and every one. Which model married comedian Richard Pryor? Who inspired Russ Meyer’s first film? Where are those free Mary Waters loops? And yes, Roberta Pedon is alive and well! Further updating the “Bigger” theme, we added the 12 most incredible, natural, and provocative breast models of today, gathered from across the world by Berlin-based photographer, Bernd Daktari Lorenz. Nadine Jansen, Luna Amor, Miosotis Claribel and the incredible Hitomi Tanaka prove breasts are bigger than ever, and bigger is beautiful, for both breasts and books. Wrap it up with stunning photos of our original cover girl Kelly Madison and The Bigger Book of Breasts is a bigger treat for all.

Edinburgh University Press Digital, Class, Work: Before and During Covid-19
This book provides a systematic account of the impact of COVID-19 on the digital labour process by situating its analysis within the broader and global perspective of neoliberalism and financialisation. It investigates how COVID-19 has both changed and strengthened neoliberal and financialised class relations in the digital workplace. By drawing on Marxist theory and numerous empirical studies, the book examines these areas both before and during COVID-19 by focusing on five distinctive digital labour and work processes: global 'productive' digital work processes in sectors like manufacturing; 'unproductive' digital work in sectors like retail and finance; creative industries; gig and platform work; and digital work in the state and public sector. It also maps out degrees of class struggle in and around exploitation, oppression and emancipatory potential in the digital workplace before and during the pandemic.
