Thomas Nelson Publishers Mixed: Embracing Complexity by Uncovering Your God-led Identity
Many of us feel like we don't belong or are out of touch with our true identity. Discover how you can gain a stronger sense of who God made you to be and step confidently into every relationship, fully owning your unique distinctions and celebrating the differences of others.Group dynamics can be based on the simplest forms of physical and cultural distinctions, and those who don't quite fit the mold of a group can feel like outsiders. The reality is none of us fit into a box. We're all unique with a mixed background—socially, culturally, experientially. For some of us, like Eli Bonilla Jr., we are also mixed ethnically. No one person is an identical copy of anyone else.In Mixed, Eli questions the basis of unity and inclusion and explores the multiple components of our identity, discovering how they can all be reconciled for God's purpose as we reflect His image. Mixed will lead you to: find peace with the complexity within yourself, understand yourself more deeply so you can relate to others, experience more human connection through a God-led identity, and develop greater empathy, celebrate cultures without creating division, and fight for people in the margins. Eli will remind you that God made you the way you are for good reason, and you belong wherever He says you belong. Pairing personal stories with biblical teaching, Eli will inspire you not to hold back from others but to confidently share the fullness of who you are, and to love, celebrate, and unite with people who are not just different, but beautifully complex.

Hatje Cantz Enzyklopädie der Medien. Band 6 (German Edition): Theorie und Medien
From Greek antiquity to the present, from the book to the gramophone, from Gutenberg to Google, our culture is defined by changes in recording, storage, and transmission media. In a six-volume selection of his writings, Peter Weibel presents an encyclopedia that addresses all areas of the media world. The author has conceived this series as following in the tradition of the Enlightenment and the Encyclopédie by Denis Diderot and Jean Baptiste le Rond d’Alembert. Three volumes will be published in September 2014, and the remaining three in spring 2015. Volume one deals with a broad definition of architecture in the context of new media. Volume two is devoted to media-related innovations in the area of music—from automatic methods of composition in the music of Mozart to a theory of molecular music. Volume three addresses the impact of new media on art and discusses how pictures become interactive and viewers become part of the work—how reality replaces representation. The themes of the other three volumes are literature, politics, and theory in the context of new media.

Bodleian Library Martha Lloyd's Household Book: The Original Manuscript from Jane Austen's Kitchen
This is the first facsimile publication of 'Martha Lloyd’s Household Book', the manuscript cookbook of Jane Austen’s closest friend. Martha’s notebook is reproduced in a colour facsimile section with complete transcription and detailed annotation. Introductory chapters discuss its place among other household books of the eighteenth century. Martha Lloyd befriended a young Jane Austen and later lived with Jane, her sister Cassandra and their mother at the cottage in Chawton, Hampshire, where Jane wrote or revised her novels. Martha later married into the Austen family. Her collection features recipes and remedies handwritten during a period of over thirty years and includes the only surviving recipes from Mrs Austen and Captain Francis Austen, Jane’s mother and brother. There are many connections between Martha’s book and Jane Austen’s writing, including white soup from 'Pride and Prejudice' and the author’s favourites – toasted cheese and mead. The family, culinary and literary connections detailed in the introductory chapters of this work give a fascinating perspective on the time and manner in which both women lived, thanks to this extraordinary artefact passed down through the Austen family.

Oldcastle Books Ltd Studio Ghibli: The films of Hayao Miyazaki and Isao Takahata
The animations of Japan's Studio Ghibli are among the most respected in the movie industry. Their films rank alongside the most popular non-English language films ever made, with each new release a guaranteed box office hit. Yet this highly profitable studio has remained fiercely independent, producing a stream of imaginative and individual animations. The studio's founders, Hayao Miyazaki and the late Isao Takahata, have created timeless masterpieces. Their films are distinctly Japanese but the themes are universal: humanity, community and a love for the environment. Studio Ghibli outlines the history of the studio and explores the early output of its founders. It examines all the studio's major works including Laputa: Castle in the Sky, Grave of the Fireflies, My Neighbour Totoro, Kiki's Delivery Service, Only Yesterday, Porco Rosso, Pom Poko, Whisper of the Heart, Princess Mononoke and Howl's Moving Castle, as well as the Oscar-winning Spirited Away. Also included are the more recent animations: Hayao Miyazaki's Oscar-nominated masterpiece The Wind Rises, Isao Takahata's The Tale of Princess Kaguya, Gor? Miyazaki's Earwig and the Witch and Hayao Miyazaki's latest box office success, The Boy and the Heron.

Quercus Publishing Greeks Bearing Gifts: Bernie Gunther Thriller 13
Bernie Gunther returns in the thirteenth book in the Sunday Times and New York Times bestselling series, perfect for fans of John le Carre and Robert Harris.'One of the greatest anti-heroes ever written' LEE CHILD'Kerr leads us through the facts of history and the vagaries of human nature' TOM HANKS'One of the greatest master story-tellers in English' ALAN FURST1957, Munich. Bernie Gunther's latest move in a string of varied careers sees him working for an insurance company. It makes a kind of sense: both cops and insurance companies have a vested interest in figuring out when people are lying to them, and Bernie has a lifetime of experience to call on.Sent to Athens to investigate a claim from a fellow German for a sunken ship, Bernie takes an instant dislike to the claimant. When he discovers the ship in question once belonged to a Greek Jew deported to Auschwitz, he is convinced the sinking was no accident but an act of vengeance. And so Bernie is once again drawn inexorably back to the dark history of the Second World War, and the deportation of the Jews of Salonika - now Thessaloniki. As Europe prepares to move on to a more united future with Germany as a partner rather than an enemy, at least one person in Greece is ready neither to forgive nor forget. And, deep down, Bernie thinks they may have a point.

Princeton University Press Hodge Theory (MN-49)
This book provides a comprehensive and up-to-date introduction to Hodge theory--one of the central and most vibrant areas of contemporary mathematics--from leading specialists on the subject. The topics range from the basic topology of algebraic varieties to the study of variations of mixed Hodge structure and the Hodge theory of maps. Of particular interest is the study of algebraic cycles, including the Hodge and Bloch-Beilinson Conjectures. Based on lectures delivered at the 2010 Summer School on Hodge Theory at the ICTP in Trieste, Italy, the book is intended for a broad group of students and researchers. The exposition is as accessible as possible and doesn't require a deep background. At the same time, the book presents some topics at the forefront of current research. The book is divided between introductory and advanced lectures. The introductory lectures address Kahler manifolds, variations of Hodge structure, mixed Hodge structures, the Hodge theory of maps, period domains and period mappings, algebraic cycles (up to and including the Bloch-Beilinson conjecture) and Chow groups, sheaf cohomology, and a new treatment of Grothendieck's algebraic de Rham theorem. The advanced lectures address a Hodge-theoretic perspective on Shimura varieties, the spread philosophy in the study of algebraic cycles, absolute Hodge classes (including a new, self-contained proof of Deligne's theorem on absolute Hodge cycles), and variation of mixed Hodge structures. The contributors include Patrick Brosnan, James Carlson, Eduardo Cattani, Francois Charles, Mark Andrea de Cataldo, Fouad El Zein, Mark L. Green, Phillip A. Griffiths, Matt Kerr, Le D?ng Trang, Luca Migliorini, Jacob P. Murre, Christian Schnell, and Loring W. Tu.

Mousehold Press This Island Race: Inside 135 Years of British Bike-Racing
Why did Reg Harris want to become a professional road racer? Why did Britain's top time-triallist sit on a dustbin to annoy the RTTC? Why did Jacques Anquetil want to put the British '25' record on the shelf for three decades? And what stopped British cycling being as great as it could have been? How could people passionate about bike-racing, and dedicated to the sport they loved, have made sure that it never became a major sport in Britain, and that British cycling never became a force in the world? This Island Race has the answers and all the fascinating anecdotes and insights that go with them. It tells of blood on the carpet, of lifelong feuds and personal animosities, and of the fear, jealousies and suspicion that have riddled British cycling from the days of the penny-farthing. It could almost be a crime novel. But this is British cycling - seen from the inside. Les Woodland has spent a lifetime in cycling as an organiser, coach and writer - in Britain, in Flanders and now in France. That, and a passion for the history of the sport, have given him an unusual insight into the dusty corners of British and world cycling. His books have been published across the world and in numerous languages.

Running Press,U.S. Shadow Magic: Unlocking the Whole Witch Within
"A necessary addition to any collection on magic and witchcraft." - Publisher's WeeklyHuman beings are incredibly complex. We are more than just our happiness or sunny dispositions, and we have much to offer others and ourselves even on our worst days. There is magic and energy and potential in these moments-in the shadow-and we cannot be the fullest expression of ourselves, at our most powerful, unless we embrace and embody all that we are.Shadow Magic is here to assist you in uncovering, understanding, and celebrating your own shadow. Author Nikki Van De Car teaches us to work with the shadow, rather than trying to suppress or ignore it-allowing each of us to uncover the whole, integrated witch within. And along the way you'll encounter profiles of witches and women throughout history who embraced their own shadows, even when it wasn't popular.Throughout this book you will learn to embrace what it means to be in relationship with your own shadow, in a process of growth and exploration that will enhance all aspects of the self, allowing for a fuller, more magical life.
