Antes de concebir la edición definitiva en álbum, conocida en todo el mundo, el dibujante había elaborado una primera versión publicada en la revista Tintin, cuyos originales dormían en los archivos desde hacía 60 años. Restaurados con esmero y minuciosidad, estos documentos nos permiten hoy mostrar al público Las joyas de la Castafiore tal como apareció integralmente, entre 1961 y 1962, en la revista semanal para jóvenes de 7 a 77 años.
