Griffin Publishing Get the Truth
Getting someone to tell the truth is an essential skill that very few people possess. In the boardroom, classroom, or our own homes, every day we interact with others and try to get the truth from them. People are often untruthful out of fear of negative consequences associated with divulging information. But if a person is made to forget the long-term outcomes, he or she can be influenced to disclose sensitive information that's being withheld. The aim is to encourage the person to remain in short-term thinking mode, shifting focus away from the long-term ramifications of telling the truth. As former CIA agents and bestselling authors of Spy the Lie, Philip Houston, Mike Floyd, and Susan Carnicero are among the world's best at recognising deceptive behaviour and eliciting the truth from even the most accomplished liars. Get the Truth is a step-by-step guide that empowers readers to elicit the truth from others. It also chronicles the fascinating story of how the authors used a methodology Houston developed to elicit the truth in the counter terrorism and criminal investigation realms, and how these techniques can be applied to our daily lives. Using thrilling anecdotes from their careers in counter intelligence, and with easy-to-follow instructions, the authors provide a fool proof means of getting absolutely anybody to give an honest answer. Get the Truth is the easy and effective way to learn how to get the truth every time.

Griffin Publishing Fear
In "Fear: Understanding and Accepting the Insecurities of Life", Osho takes the reader step by step over the range of what makes human beings afraid - from the reflexive "fight or flight" response to physical danger to the rational and irrational fears of the mind and its psychology. Only by bringing the light of understanding into fear's dark corners, he says, airing out closets and opening windows, and looking under the bed to see if a monster is really living there, can we begin to venture outside the boundaries of our comfort zone and learn to live with, and even enjoy, the fundamental insecurity of being alive. "Fear" ends with a series of meditation experiments designed to help readers experience a new relationship with fear and to begin to see fears not as stumbling blocks, but as stepping stones to greater self-awareness and trust.

Some of the nation's leading business executives have learned to use these methods to root out lies in high stakes situations.

Griffin Publishing Fighter Pilot
Robin Olds was a larger-than-life hero with a towering personality. A graduate of West Point and an inductee in the National College Football Hall of Fame for his All-American performance for Army, Olds was one of the toughest college football players at the time. In WWII, Olds quickly became a top fighter pilot and squadron commander by the age of 22 - and an ace with 12 aerial victories. But it was in Vietnam where the man became a legend. He arrived in 1966 to find a dejected group of pilots and motivated them by placing himself on the flight schedule under officers junior to himself, then challenging them to train him properly because he would soon be leading them. Proving he wasn't a WWII retread, he led the wing with aggressiveness, scoring another 4 confirmed kills, becoming a rare triple ace. Olds (who retired a brigadier general and died in 2007) was a unique individual whose personal story is acknowledged by many to be the aviation book of the decade and one of the best military books of the year.

Griffin Publishing Meditation: A First and Last Freedom
In this essential meditation handbook for the 21st century, Osho turns the traditional notion of meditation practice on its head. Meditation contains practical, step-by-step guides to a wide variety of meditation techniques selected by and/or created by Osho, including unique "active meditations" which deal with the special tensions of contemporary life. The book also explores what meditation is and what it isn't - along with preparation tips, and what kinds of obstacles to expect along the way. Readers will also find suggestions for choosing the techniques that are most appropriate for their own lifestyles. Griffin Publishing Killing Lincoln: The Shocking Assassination That Changed America
The anchor of "The O'Reilly Factor" recounts one of the most dramatic stories in American history - how one gunshot changed the country forever. In the spring of 1865, the bloody saga of America's Civil War finally comes to an end after a series of increasingly harrowing battles. President Abraham Lincoln's generous terms for Robert E. Lee's surrender are devised to fulfil Lincoln's dream of healing a divided nation, with the former Confederates allowed to reintegrate into American society. But one man and his band of murderous accomplices, perhaps reaching into the highest ranks of the U.S. government, are not appeased. In the midst of the patriotic celebrations in Washington D.C., John Wilkes Booth - charismatic ladies' man and impenitent racist - murders Abraham Lincoln at Ford's Theatre. A furious manhunt ensues and Booth immediately becomes the country's most wanted fugitive. Lafayette C. Baker, a smart but shifty New York detective and former Union spy, unravels the string of clues leading to Booth, while federal forces track his accomplices. Griffin Publishing American Betrayal
In American Betrayal, Diana West digs into our modern political landscape, dominated by President Barack Obama, to ask how did America turn its back on its basic beliefs and ignore the Socialist movement underway long before the 2012 election. West's surprising answer takes the form of an investigative history that explores the massive, Moscow - directed penetration of U.S. society. She looks at those who concealed it - Roosevelt, Truman, Eisenhower - those who did the penetrating - Hiss, Currie, Silvermaster, Hopkins, Adler, and hundreds more; and the forgotten heroes who exposed it -Lyons, Bullitt, Dies, Chambers, Bentley, Jordan, Epstein, and even McCarthy. West finds that even before WWII, the U.S. made a deal-with-the-devil, accepting Big Lie after Big Lie from the Soviet Union, concealing them in order to take the stage as the post-war superpower, and losing our values in the process. The sorry story continues today with Americans acquiescing to pro-Islamic radicalism while leading Republicans are fearful of speaking out against liberal excesses. In American Betrayal, Diana West shakes the historical record and dislodges a shocking number of icons to discover how a nation of adolescents became so cowardly that we cannot defend our most cherished values.

John Basilone held off 3,000 Japanese troops at Guadalcanal after his 15-member unit was reduced to three men. Griffin Publishing My Story
On June 5, 2002, fourteen-year-old Elizabeth Smart, the daughter of a close-knit Mormon family, was taken from her home in the middle of the night by religious fanatic, Brian David Mitchell and his wife, Wanda Barzee. She was kept chained, dressed in disguise, repeatedly raped, and told she and her family would be killed if she tried to escape. After her rescue on March 12, 2003, she rejoined her family and worked to pick up the pieces of her life. In My Story she tells, for the first time, of the constant fear she endured every hour, her courageous determination to maintain hope, and how she convinced her captors to return to Utah, where she was rescued minutes after arriving. Smart explains how her faith helped her stay sane in the midst of a nightmare and how she found the strength to confront her captors at their trial and see that justice was served. In the years after her rescue, Smart transformed from victim to advocate, traveling the country and working to educate, inspire and foster change. She has created a foundation to help prevent crimes against children and is a frequent public speaker. In 2012, she married Matthew Gilmour, whom she met doing mission work in Paris for her church. Elizabeth is writing a new chapter for the trade paperback edition that will explore how she readjusted to life after the kidnapping, how she learned to cope, and how telling her story has changed her.
