The Dales Way is a 79 mile (127km) long distance trail in the north of England, running between Ilkley, in North Yorkshire and Bowness-on-Windermere, in Cumbria. Much of the route passes through the Yorkshire Dales and Lake District National Parks. Starting out in Ilkley, the route runs along Wharfedale, passing the impressive ruins of Bolton Priory and the attractive market town of Grassington. It continues along the River Wharfe through dramatic limestone scenery before it crosses The Pennines to reach Dentdale and Sedbergh. It then skirts the Howgill Fells and crosses the M6 motorway to finish overlooking Lake Windermere. This map-guide is laid out for walkers travelling from Ilkley to Bowness, although walkers travelling in the opposite direction should find it equally useful. Using part of the Mary Towneley Loop, the route is described for mountain bikers from Summit, just outside Rochdale all the way to Ravenstonedale in Cumbria, in about 176km. 11 circular day mountain bike routes are included for those who do not wish to ride the whole route as a linear trail. It splits the main bridleway into rides of 8 - 16 miles in length. A grand total of 384km of trail are covered, mapped using OS map extracts and illustrated with profiles, photographed and described in enough detail to suit all levels of navigational ability. Appendices also offer information on local facilities, accommodation, bike shops and other useful contacts for planning your days out or longer trip along the Bridleway, and information provided before each route description includes distance, ascent, grading, estimated time and percentage of route off-road, as well as maps needed and pubs and cafes en route.

Must we conform to moral requirements? Most who have addressed this question have treated the normative significance of morality as simply a fact to be explained.
