Audrey Ekdahl Davidson was a professor of music for many years at Western Michigan University. In honor of her retirement and her history with the Society for Old Music, an organization that she founded in 1966, this collection of music has been selected and prepared. The transcriptions were all designed for performances by the Society for Old Music, and were used in concerts for the local community, the International Congress on Medieval Studies, and other audiences in Michigan. The Society's concerts ranged from medieval chant and monophonic song to polyphonic choral works, and each concert focused on a particular topic, perhaps most successfully when music-drama was joined to liturgical display. The collection is a fitting tribute to tireless scholar, and an asset to any student of early music performance.

CAUSAL INFERENCE IN STATISTICS A Primer Causality is central to the understanding and use of data. Without an understanding of cause–effect relationships, we cannot use data to answer questions as basic as "Does this treatment harm or help patients?" Nicholas of Cusa (1401–1464), widely considered the most important original philosopher of the Renaissance, was born in Kues on the Moselle River. A polymath who studied canon law and became a cardinal of the Roman Catholic Church, he wrote principally on speculative theology, philosophy, and church politics. As a political thinker he is best known for De concordantia catholica, which presented a blueprint for peace in an age of ecclesiastical discord.This volume makes most of Nicholas’s other writings on Church and reform available in English for the first time, including legal tracts arguing the case of Pope Eugenius IV against the conciliarists, theological examinations of the nature of the Church, and writings on reform of the papacy and curia.
