Collective Ink Pandeism: An Anthology of the Creative Mind: An exploration of the creativity of the human mind
Following on from Pandeism: An Anthology this new volume brings you three returning authors and a dozen new ones, including renowned physicist and theologian Varadaraja V. Raman, communications professor and poet John Ross, Jr., mixed martial artist turned musician Jimmy "Ninja" Chaikong, Judaism blogger Roger Price, and mythohistorian Julian West. The theme of this volume is the creativity of the human mind - in art, in poetry, in recasting historical events in mythological terms, in film and television, and, indeed, in prose theological writing. A creative mind is a fire which gives light to the head, warmth to the heart, and nourishment to the soul, and we are blessed to present talents sufficient to fuel many a conversation to come. Indeed, perhaps the creativity of the human mind is a flickering echo of a greater mind which we all occupy.

Seal Press The Feminine Revolution: 21 Ways to Ignite the Power of Your Femininity for a Brighter Life and a Better World
Challenging old and outdated perceptions that feminine traits are weaknesses, The Feminine Revolution revisits those characteristics to show how they are powerful assets that should be embraced rather than maligned. It argues that feminine traits have been mischaracterized as weak, fragile, diminutive, and embittered for too long, and offers a call to arms to redeem them as the personal power tools they are meant to be. The authors, Amy Stanton and Catherine Connors, begin with a brief history of when-and-why these traits were defined as weaknesses, sharing opinions from iconic feminists like Samantha Bee, Sheryl Sandberg, and Misty Copeland. Then they offer a set of feminine principles that challenge an unfair perceptions of feminine traits, and provide women new mindsets to reclaim those traits with confidence. The principles include counterintuitive messages, like:Take things hard. Women feel things deeply, especially the hard stuff.Enjoy glamour. Peacocks' garish coloring is part of their survival strategy. Chit-chat. Women have been derogated for "gossip" for centuries. What others call gossip, we call social connection.Emote. Express yourself with signs of enthusiasm, affection, and warmth.Embrace your domestic side. Don't be ashamed to be cultivate the beauty of your home. With an upbeat blend of self-help and fresh analysis, The Feminine Revolution reboots femininity for the modern woman and give her the tools to accept and embrace her own authentic nature.

New York University Press Time: A Vocabulary of the Present
The critical condition and historical motivation behind Time Studies The concept of time in the post-millennial age is undergoing a radical rethinking within the humanities. Time: A Vocabulary of the Present newly theorizes our experiences of time in relation to developments in post-1945 cultural theory and arts practices. Wide ranging and theoretically provocative, the volume introduces readers to cutting-edge temporal conceptualizations and investigates what exactly constitutes the scope of time studies. Featuring twenty essays that reveal what we talk about when we talk about time today, especially in the areas of history, measurement, and culture, each essay pairs two keywords to explore the tension and nuances between them, from “past/future” and “anticipation/unexpected” to “extinction/adaptation” and “serial/simultaneous.” Moving beyond the truisms of postmodernism, the collection newly theorizes the meanings of temporality in relationship to aesthetic, cultural, technological, and economic developments in the postwar period. This book thus assumes that time—not space, as the postmoderns had it—is central to the contemporary period, and that through it we can come to terms with what contemporaneity can be for human beings caught up in the historical present. In the end, Time reveals that the present is a cultural matrix in which overlapping temporalities condition and compete for our attention. Thus each pair of terms presents two temporalities, yielding a generative account of the time, or times, in which we live.

Arizona Center for Medieval & Renaissance Studies,US Taming of the Shrew
Amy Freed rewrites The Taming of the Shrew, one of the more problematic plays in the Shakespeare canon. While beloved for its sharp dialogue and witty banter, The Taming of the Shrew offers a problematic storyline that many have deemed misogynistic. The play contains insensitive gags and uneasy politics, making it difficult for modern audiences to connect with the text. Amy Freed’s new translation reactivates the original story, blowing away the dust and cobwebs. As Freed’s text reminds us, at its heart The Taming of the Shrew is a story about courage and authenticity. This translation of The Taming of the Shrew was written as part of the Oregon Shakespeare Festival’s Play On! project, which commissioned new translations of thirty-nine Shakespeare plays. These translations present work from “The Bard” in language accessible to modern audiences while never losing the beauty of Shakespeare’s verse. Enlisting the talents of a diverse group of contemporary playwrights, screenwriters, and dramaturges from diverse backgrounds, this project reenvisions Shakespeare for the twenty-first century. These volumes make these works available for the first time in print—a new First Folio for a new era.

Baker Publishing Group My Tech–Wise Life – Growing Up and Making Choices in a World of Devices
It's time to take our power back We can barely imagine our lives without technology. Tech gives us tools to connect with our friends, listen to our music, document our lives, share our opinions, and keep up with what's going on in the world. Yet it also tempts us to procrastinate, avoid honest conversations, compare ourselves with others, and filter our reality. Sometimes, it feels like our devices have a lot more control over us than we have over them. But it doesn't have to be that way. In fact, we deserve so much more than what technology offers us. And when we're wise about how we use our devices, we can get more--more joy, more connection, more out of life. Tech shouldn't get in the way of a life worth living. Let's get tech-wise.
