Interrogative constructions are the linguistic forms by which questions are expressed. Even though they have played a central role in the development of modern syntactic theory, there exist few syntactic and semantic treatments that provide a comprehensive account of a wide range of interrogative constructions and uses in a single language. This text aims to close the gap in research on this subject. It develops the frameworks of head driven phrase structure grammar and situation semantics, to provide an account that integrates syntactic, semantic and contextual dimensions of interrogatives. The inheritance of the east-European autocratic system frozen up by the communist state was thawed after the peaceful regime change, the constitutional revolution and its discrete components began to be reactivated. Liberal and conservative have become stigmas in many parts of the world, in line with fascist, reactionary, rightist, bourgeois etc. The attempts by both liberal and conservative advocates, however, to find historic predecessors did not favor an objective approach. Although several pioneering works have appeared on Hungarian liberalism and conservatism, there are no serious unbiased syntheses; the political poles of the constitutional revolution and the ensuing period have been described in terms of different conspiracy theories. Complex behavior models (plasticity, cracks, visco elascticity) face some theoretical difficulties for the determination of the behavior law at the continuous scale. When homogenization fails to give the right behavior law, a solution is to simulate the material at a meso scale in order to simulate directly a set of discrete properties that are responsible of the macroscopic behavior. The discrete element model has been developed for granular material. The proposed set shows how this method is capable to solve the problem of complex behavior that are linked to discrete meso scale effects. The first book solves the local problem, the second one presents a coupling approach to link the structural effects to the local ones, this third book presents the software workbench that includes all the theoretical developments.

In 1911 the French couturier Paul Poiret challenged Edward Steichen to create the first artistic, rather than merely documentary, fashion photographs, a moment that is now considered to be a turning point in the history of fashion photography. As fashion changed over the next century, so did the photography of fashion. Steichen's modernist approach was forthright and visually arresting. In the 1930s the photographer Martin Munkacsi pioneered a gritty, photojournalistic style. In the 1960s Richard Avedon encouraged his models to express their personalities by smiling and laughing, which had often been discouraged previously. Helmut Newton brought an explosion of sexuality into fashion images and turned the tables on traditional gender stereotypes in the 1970s, and in the 1980s Bruce Weber and Herb Ritts made male sexuality an important part of fashion photography. Despite the prominence of television in our everyday lives, psychoanalytic approaches to its significance and function are notoriously few and far between. This volume takes up perspectives from object relations theory and other psychoanalytic approaches to ask questions about the role of television as an object of the internal worlds of its viewers, and also addresses itself to a range of specific television programmes, ranging from Play School, through the plays of Jack Rosenthal to recent TV blockbuster series such as In Treatment. In addition, it considers the potential of television to open up new public spaces of therapeutic experience.Interviews with a TV producer and with the subject of a documentary expressly suggest that there is scope for television to make a positive therapeutic intervention in people's lives. At the same time, however, the pitfalls of reality programming are explored with reference to the politics of entertainment and the televisual values that heighten the drama of representation rather than emphasising the emotional experience of reality television participants and viewers.
