Right Book Press Charismatic to the Core: A Fresh Approach to Authentic Leadership
Are you charismatic enough to be a successful leader? You don't have to shout or show off to be charismatic. Charisma is often seen as an intangible concept that unconsciously attracts a negative reaction in the world of business. There is a stereotypical image that a charismatic leader is a confident extrovert with a big personality. Even if charisma can be taught, (and many research papers indicate that you either have it or you don't) the question is: how important is charisma for leadership success? Life puts layers onto individuals, much like paint. Year after year, more layers are added until you no longer know how deeply buried the authentic you is. It's time to start celebrating the real you! In Charismatic to the Core, Nikki Owen strips away the unwanted layers and takes you back to your authentic self. It is a revelation, a rebirth, a realisation that life can be on your own terms. Your leadership impact can be whatever you desire it to be. When you are being true to who you really are at your core, your charisma shines through.

Right Book Press Life after Boris: A fable about succession planning for professional firms
Life after Boris is a quick-to-read fable that should encourage any partner - or indeed anyone aspiring to partnership - in a professional services firm, to make sure that the succession planning issue is addressed in their firm. It seeks to demonstrate that with good planning, collaboration and proactive discussion, options can be found that will be acceptable to all. Without such an approach, the consequences could be serious. Succession planning is not inherently difficult or intellectually complex. It does, however, strike many raw nerves, both with those who are currently at the top of their firms and are contemplating retirement (or not), and also with those in the early stages of their careers who are anxious to know what the future holds for them in their current firm. The frustration, of course, is that many stakeholders in the succession planning process (of which there are far more than one might originally envisage) rush into decisions because of the apparent lack of a succession plan, thereby simply exacerbating the problem for all the other stakeholders. It is therefore critical that all firms, and the stakeholders within those firms, address the succession planning question before it becomes an issue. Closing the stable door after the horse has bolted is simply not an option. Initiating the succession planning process need not necessarily come from the current leaders. Indeed, their failure to do so is often at the root of the problem. The bright leaders of tomorrow have much at stake and although a great deal of tact and sensitivity will be needed, it is often these future leaders of a firm who are best positioned to bring about change. In the author's experience over the last 12 years of working with professional services firms around the world, one of the most frequently recurring catalysts for discussion has been succession management. Firms that got it right developed and prospered. Those that didn't struggled and often ended up having to merge and ultimately disappear into oblivion.

Right Book Press Catching Giants: World-beating business lessons from the small team with a big dream that took on the world and won
**Shortlisted as a finalist in the Business Book Awards 2023** Can a small business really compete with the biggest business giants? The typical argument is that they wouldn’t have the budget, skills or experience. But Catching Giants demonstrates that this simply isn’t true and shows how, even in the toughest of circumstances and competitive environments, it is possible for the small player to win big. When Kevin Gaskell and his small, inexperienced crew took on the ‘World’s Toughest Row’ and set out to cross the Atlantic Ocean in a tiny rowing boat, they knew it would take a single-minded determination, focus, some innovative approaches and smart thinking to beat their Olympic level competition and become world champions. But that’s exactly what they did! Through this thrilling, motivating and inspiring story of triumph over seemingly impossible odds, Kevin shares the 80 world-beating lessons that he and his team used to beat the best at their own game. Whatever the challenge and whether it’s clarity, strategy, finances or team alignment that appear to stand in your way, these game-changing lessons have the power to help any team leader, manager or business owner overcome barriers and drive their team to reach for, catch and pass their own giants.
