The son of artist parents, Dahmane was born in Paris on 21 April 1959. His father was a painter and engraver, and his mother a poet and painter. Dahmane became familiar with photography at an early age, being first introduced to it by his grandmother and a photographer friend of his parents. At 15 he began to develop a consuming interest in nude photography, gathering his first experience with two classmates from secondary school, who modelled for him. His predilection for black and white photography has continued into the Millennium; the medium allows him to refine and develop his technique as part of an on-going process. He quickly learned that Leica lenses give you the best results, and for this reason, prefers Leica SLRs and enlargers. Dahmane published his first work before he was 20, including an extensive reportage on the suffering of animals in zoos. At the same time, he worked as a freelance portrait photographer for a range of French magazines, including LExpansion, Capital, LExpress, Le Figaro, VSD, Closer, LUsine Nouvelle and others. Several volumes of his nudes have been released, including Dahmane (bags), Dressed Nudes (Futami-Shobo), Dressed Nudes (Edition Skylight and La Musardine), Erotic Sessions (Edition Skylight and La Musardine) and Addicted to Nudes (Edition Skylight and La Musardine). His nude works have been published all over the world and exhibited in London, Paris, Rome and Los Angeles, among other places. This paid homage to the sensuality and beauty of Brazilian women, especially those from Ipanema, the legendary area of Rio de Janeiro. Even today, there are more attractive men and women in Ipanema than at any other beach in Brazil. However, while Brazilian women have always had plenty of attention, the male of the species has been neglected by the photographers' lens. High time, then, to let the Latin lovers from Brazil into the picture. Between 2001 and 2009 I photographed an incredible variety of men in and around Rio. There, people love to show off their bodies, and work hard to keep them in good shape. Total nudity is, however, taboo in Brazil. People are aware that leaving on the last shred of clothing stimulates the imagination, and has a far more erotic effect than showing off all your assets. Many of my photographs communicate emotion, charm and sensuality, but not only that. They also reveal "alegria" or joy of life, a quality unique to the Brazilians and their way of life.

Shasta comes from Rwanda in Central Africa, a relatively small, landlocked country. She has strong family ties, and is proud of her origins. It was only by chance that I discovered her sedcard, and immediately found her fascinating. Photographing dark-skinned models in the Alps inevitably produces contrast-rich results, so we end up spending many hours in the mountains during a shoot. Surprisingly, Shasta has exceptionally good hiking equipment, and that motivates her to hike to the top of mountains whose peaks may still be hidden in the clouds. Unfortunately, the temperatures can be extremely fresh up high, but Shasta is brave and always ready to pose, even when the temperature is sometimes under 10 °C! In addition to modelling, Shasta designs and handmakes clothing in the fabrics, patterns and colours typical of her home country, ingeniously combining traditional African aesthetics with more modern, sensual styles. She doesnt need a model to show off her outfits as she does it all herself with selfies, of which she is the leading proponent! Definitely for adults only! The photographs in this volume were all taken without commercial interest or intent of any kind; without paying attention to taboos or respecting what is forbidden. They are real photos, entire stories that have no need for long words. And even though it could hardly be called a pillow book, you do risk having sleepless nights after having enjoyed it. I have tried to capture the frank and sweaty atmosphere surrounding teenagers, their charged awareness, as this is what I repeatedly found on my many travels. It was a personal quest that led me far away from my real work. We see young adults (all at least 18 years of age), who become professional models for a day. French and Czech women, Ukrainians, Hungarians and even American women initiate us into the intimacies of their youth, with not too much posing, but occasionally enhanced with accessories of their choice.

Stepan Kvardakov was born in 1988 in Ivanov, Russia. After graduating from University he moved to St. Petersburg in 2010. He was inspired to take up photography after his father gave him a Canon 7d camera. In 2013 he met Elena, who was to become his future wife, a very pretty and highly photogenic lady, and an experienced model. Stepan decided to advance his study of photography by joining Oleg Titiaevs and erotic photographer Dan Hechos master classes.
