Chronos Publishing The Happipreneur
Both authors agree that no one can afford to wait for the revolution. Johnston explained: 'As business owners, Tony, myself and all our readers have to just get on with it. It is always a rollercoaster and we expect the unexpected. We hope our guide helps them to avoid the snakes and climb the ladders. Tony's story of what he has learned from his own businesses and working with many famous entrepreneurs is important for others to know. It is about how to live an enterprising and happy life. We answer the questions 'How to become a Happipreneur?' and 'Why #MicroBizMatters?'. We call out the fakes and the scammers and provide a blueprint for the Establishment on why and how they can level the playing field." An insight into the life of a man who has dedicated the last 30 years to improving the way MicroBiz owners are treated but is also a no-nonsense guide to avoiding the pitfalls small business owners face.

Chronos Publishing My Life With A Sociopath: It Can Happen To Anyone
It started with a comment on social media, actually, that's not true, it had started long before then, but that comment led to a message, which led to several calls and ended with him driving his car into my house. Through the use of genuine text messages, I've opened up my life to show what I went through in the last two years, with an aggressive, lying, stealing, borderline alcoholic, sociopathic husband. I begin by taking you back to the start, where life was good, well, okay at least and as the story unfolds, you can see how not only his behaviour deteriorates, but how the drip drip effect led me to almost lose myself, in a painful and sometimes violent relationship. I show how you can move from a place where you hide your purse under your pillow, and go out with your passport in your handbag to a place of happiness, and I do this through the willingness to share my pain, my confusion and the struggles I went through in order to come out the other side. My Life with a Sociopath gives you access to the raw, unedited messages between me and my husband, which together with my honest commentary, provides an insight into psychological abuse. I hope that it may help those who find themselves in a similar situation and will be a voice for those who may have lost theirs.

Chronos Publishing Visioner
Peter, 17 years old, six foot tall and good looking has started to notice a ghostly orb hanging around in his bedroom, at the home he shares with his divorced mum. He resolves to speak to it the next time it appears and just as he is about to fall asleep that evening, the orb appears. He speaks to it and it answers back. The orb turns out to be nothing to do with a spirit but is actually a contact device called a 'Visioner' belonging to an alien ambassador, who has been studying and learning about Peter and his girlfriend Julie for nearly four years. Having decided that Peter was now old enough to understand the situation and mature enough to deal with it, the alien has made contact. After meeting the alien, whom Peter nicknames 'Clix', their friendship begins. Soon after, and having been given his own Visioner which can be used not only to see relatives in the present time but also to see relatives from times gone by and experience the same smells, sounds and sensations as they do, Peter undertakes what turns out to be a harrowing 'trip' to experience the horrors of how his great grandfather lost his life during the Second World War. On his return from that trip, Peter mentions to Clix that he'd noticed another Visioner, a blue orb, which Clix warns belongs to a rogue alien race, on the lookout for suitable gene donors, to strengthen their weakening race. Clix warns that it might affect Julie and allows Peter to let Julie into the secrets of the Visioner. To show Julie how the Visioner works, Peter looks in on her Auntie in Australia, only to find her and her husband at the bedside of their sick daughter, who urgently needs a bone marrow transplant to survive. Julie's family and Peter all undergo blood tests and Julie's mum, who proves to be an exact match, jets off to Australia. The very evening that she leaves for Australia, Julie's younger sister Jeanie is abducted along with her best friend Li-Wei. Through the use of the Visioner, Peter discovers that they, along with numerous other young girls are being held in a hypnotised state inside the rogue alien spacecraft, awaiting the gene harvesting process. So unfolds the race to find and free them before their bodies are violated and possible further harm occurs.

Chronos Publishing Behind Closed Doors: The Boardroom - How to Get In, Get On and Make A Difference
Behind Closed Doors is unique. It opens the doors to the boardroom and explains what happens inside. Using his thirty years of board experience, Simon Laffin describes board issues, all of which he has experienced, and how boards deal with them. He gives over 150 tips, including how better decisions could be taken and how board directors can better join in those debates. He doesn't shy away from difficult topics; from how a company responds to a hostile take-over, to how to remove an underperforming director, and even how to handle sex in the boardroom: To name but a few. He argues strongly that boardrooms need more female and ethnic minority directors, and pinpoints the problem that underrepresented groups lack board experience and knowledge, something that this book can start to address. This book is about being a real director. How do you get to be one? How does it feel to join a board for the first time? How do you develop relationships with other directors? How do you make the right decisions? What do those financials mean? How should the board handle shareholders? How do you set executive pay? The book answers all these questions and more in an engaging style, packed with amusing anecdotes and much painfully-earned, real-life experience. It is a manifesto for more informed and effective boards. Reading this book will give directors a better understanding of the issues that arise inside the boardroom. His tips on building relationships and working together will make boards more cohesive teams. These will make be bigger contributions to better governance than the plethora of corporate regulation that is being developed and implemented globally. Politically-driven, populist, rule changes are challenged as the book demands evidence-based and tested regulation, focussed on people doing a difficult job, not easy targets for lazy blame. Behind Closed Doors sheds new light on the hidden workings of company boards, and will appeal to anyone interested in the boardroom; current directors; aspiring directors; commentators on, and students, of business; and even enlighted regulators.
