Quarto Publishing Group USA Inc The Healthy Coconut Flour Cookbook
Coconut flour is quickly becoming one of the most popular flours on the market today. It contains no gluten and no grain, and is also low in digestive carbs, making it a favorite among paleo, primal, gluten-free, and low-glycemic dieters. In addition to what coconut flour doesn't contain, what it does contain is just as impressive. Not only is it packed with protein, but it also contains four times more fiber than oat bran; just a few tablespoons provides you with between 28% to 50% of your daily required intake! Unlike gluten-free flour mixes, coconut flour may be used on its own and contains only one, all-natural ingredient: coconut! Its pure, slightly sweet taste is subtle enough that even coconut haters won't be able to detect it, and it lends itself perfectly to baked goods, creating results far superior to other gluten-free treats. One bite of light and moist coconut flour bread will have you addicted! With The Coconut Flour Cookbook, you'll learn how to bake wonderful breads, muffins, cakes, and more with this amazing flour, which is now easy to find in most grocery stores and online.

Cuento de Luz SL La gallina Cocorina (Clucky the Hen)
Finalist at the 2011 and 2014 International Latino Book Awards. Cocorina has a big heart, but she’s a bit clumsy and forgetful… A delightful tale told in rhyme, ideal for learning to accept the faults of those around us and to ignore gossip.Cocorina had a big heart, but she was clumsy and forgetful too. She always had a thousand things in mind, so imagine when she gave birth to three chicks!Sometimes, her children ended up finding themselves in complicated situations due to the occasional distractions from their mother. In the farmyard, the other hens gossiped and insinuated Cocorina wasn’t a good mother to her children, and the rumor started to spread… Suddenly the rumor had already arrived to the city and soon to the most remote part of the world. Everyone said that Cocorina did not treat her children well.Although not everything was going as Cocorina would have liked, she did not stop striving for the welfare of her three beloved children. But being a good mother was not an easy task: more than once did Cocorina mess up, but she never gave up and, right after apologizing to her three little ones, she hugged them and showed them that she loved them very much. And the rumors didn’t matter, because the three chicks were clear that their mother was unique and that they would not change her for anything in the world.

Arnoldsche Kokon/Cocoon: Jewellery Objects by Doerthe Fuchs
Kokon is the term Doerthe Fuchs uses to define a group of pieces of jewellery which are complete in themselves yet surprisingly draw the viewer's eye inwards. Exquisitely subtle and delicate, they nonetheless achieve holistic stability. The "cocoon" form is constantly present and recognisable. With her project Kokon Doerthe Fuchs succeeds in uniting opposite extremes. The outcome is amazement. Even the materials she uses effortlessly overcome all sources of potential friction: coarse stone is linked with fine configurations of silver; mundane objects are veiled in the elegance of gold. This seeming incongruence is not unattractive, however; on the contrary, it is the linking factor of the "cocoon". It encloses what otherwise would not belong together to create a new unity. A text by Frenec Jádi introduces the book, capturing in words the astonishing events taking place when these objects are seen. Numerous colour illustrations showcase this group of works in all its beauty. Text in English & German.

Harvard University Press Coconut Colonialism: Workers and the Globalization of Samoa
A new history of globalization and empire at the crossroads of the Pacific.Located halfway between Hawai‘i and Australia, the islands of Samoa have long been a center of Oceanian cultural and economic exchange. Accustomed to exercising agency in trade and diplomacy, Samoans found themselves enmeshed in a new form of globalization after missionaries and traders arrived in the middle of the nineteenth century. As the great powers of Europe and America competed to bring Samoa into their orbits, Germany and the United States eventually agreed to divide the islands for their burgeoning colonial holdings. In Coconut Colonialism, Holger Droessler examines the Samoan response through the lives of its workers. Ordinary Samoans—some on large plantations, others on their own small holdings—picked and processed coconuts and cocoa, tapped rubber trees, and built roads and ports that brought cash crops to Europe and North America. At the same time, Samoans redefined their own way of being in the world—what Droessler terms “Oceanian globality”—to challenge German and American visions of a global economy that in fact served only the needs of Western capitalism. Through cooperative farming, Samoans contested the exploitative wage-labor system introduced by colonial powers. The islanders also participated in ethnographic shows around the world, turning them into diplomatic missions and making friends with fellow colonized peoples. Samoans thereby found ways to press their own agendas and regain a degree of independence. Based on research in multiple languages and countries, Coconut Colonialism offers new insights into the global history of labor and empire at the dawn of the twentieth century.

The History Press Ltd Coconut: How the Shy Fruit Shaped our World
Coconuts have been around for longer than Homo sapiens; they have been turned into art, taken part in religious rituals and been a sign of wealth and success. They have saved lives, not only by providing nourishment, but also as part of the charcoal filers in First World War gas masks. It was coconuts that triggered the mutiny on the Bounty, and coconuts that saved the life of the man who went on to become the 35th President of the United States. The coconut has long been the unseen player in the endeavours of industrialists and bomb makers, physicians and silversmiths, smugglers and snake charmers. To this day, coconuts shape the lives of people around the world. At a time when coconut products crowd the shelves of supermarkets, health food shops and beauty salons, Robin Laurance looks beyond the oils and health drinks to uncover the unexpected, often surprising, and vital roles played by the coconut palm and its nut in times past and present.
