Nova Science Publishers Inc Progress in Education: Volume 68
This edited volume includes ten chapters, each of which provides a unique perspective on specific topics in the field of education. Chapter One demonstrate how gender subtexts are both communicated and resisted, are relevant for postsecondary systems facing sustained inequity despite anti-discrimination policies. Chapter Two concludes that online music lessons can be of benefit for an enhanced sense of well-being during a global pandemic. Chapter Three findings suggest that direct instruction, modelling, physicalising the meaning of words and unscripted verbal interactions were key to boosting the speaking skills of K-2 ELLs. Chapter Four aims at developing recommendations for promoting the innovation policy of universities in Georgia and other developing countries. Chapter Five highlight the importance of an early intervention programme applied to children with language difficulties in order to improve their academic, social and behavioural difficulties early in life (ie: while they are in kindergarten), and to improve therefore school success later in their life. Chapter Six focusses on Science Education and Sustainability Science and based on an exploratory qualitative methodology, offers an overview of the main reference theories and a case analysis. Chapter Seven discuss both undergraduate and graduate programs in Business Administration from which general management specialists graduate. Lastly, Chapter Eight study modern information systems, within the field of taxation, and an analysis of the advantages and disadvantages, alongside theoretical educational courses in higher educational establishments, appears germane.

Boydell & Brewer Ltd Lost Country Houses of Suffolk
Lavishly illustrated account of forty magnificent country houses, destroyed in the last century. The Lost Country Houses of Suffolk, well-researched and written and copiously illustrated, will help the reader to imagine the county's landscape refurnished with the many elegant mansions which are now sadly lost. JOHN BLATCHLY During the twentieth century some forty of Suffolk's finest country houses vanished forever, a few by fire, but more frequently through demolition, either because uneconomic to run, or through the deterioration oftheir fabric. This book relates their tragic stories, with lavish use of engravings, images and pictures to bring to life what has now gone forever. It offers an account of each house [its history, its family, its architect], with a description of the buildings, and particular information on how it came to be destroyed. The houses are put into their wider context by an introductory section, covering the economic and social circumstances which caused difficulties for the owners of country houses at the time, and comparing the loss in Suffolk with losses in England as a whole. Houses covered: Acton Place, Assington Hall, Barking Hall, Barton Hall, Boulge Hall, Bramford Hall, Branches Park, Bredfield House, Brome Hall, Campsea Ashe High House, Carlton Hall, Cavenham Hall, Chediston Hall, Downham Hall, Drinkstone Park, Easton Park, Edwardstone Hall, Flixton Hall, Fornham Hall, Hardwick House, HenhamHall, Hobland Hall, Holton Hall, Hunston Hall, Livermere Hall, The Manor House Mildenhall, Moulton Paddocks, Oakley Park, Ousden Hall, The Red House Ipswich, Redgrave Hall, Rendlesham Hall, Rougham Hall, Rushbrooke Hall, Stoke Park, Sudbourne Hall, Tendring Hall, Thorington Hall, Thornham Hall, Ufford Place.

Duke University Press Television as Digital Media
In Television as Digital Media, scholars from Australia, the United Kingdom, and the United States combine television studies with new media studies to analyze digital TV as part of digital culture. Taking into account technologies, industries, economies, aesthetics, and various production, user, and audience practices, the contributors develop a new critical paradigm for thinking about television, and the future of television studies, in the digital era. The collection brings together established and emerging scholars, producing an intergenerational dialogue that will be useful for anyone seeking to understand the relationship between television and digital media.Introducing the collection, James Bennett explains how television as digital media is a non-site-specific, hybrid cultural and technological form that spreads across platforms such as mobile phones, games consoles, iPods, and online video services, including YouTube, Hulu and the BBC’s iPlayer. Television as digital media threatens to upset assumptions about television as a mass medium that has helped define the social collective experience, the organization of everyday life, and forms of sociality. As often as we are promised the convenience of the television experience “anytime, anywhere,” we are invited to participate in communities, share television moments, and watch events live. The essays in this collection demonstrate the historical, production, aesthetic, and audience changes and continuities that underpin the emerging meaning of television as digital media.Contributors. James Bennett, William Boddy, Jean Burgess, John Caldwell, Daniel Chamberlain, Max Dawson, Jason Jacobs, Karen Lury, Roberta Pearson, Jeanette Steemers, Niki Strange, Julian Thomas, Graeme Turner

University of Pennsylvania Press Principles of Housing Finance Reform
In the fall of 2008, the world watched in horror as the U.S. housing finance system shattered, triggering a global financial panic and ultimately the Great Recession. Now, nearly a decade later, the long and slow housing recovery has reached a critical moment. Though the housing finance system has stabilized, it remains in the hands of the federal government, leaving taxpayers exposed to the credit risk while private funding remains mostly on the sidelines. Principles of Housing Finance Reform identifies the changes necessary to modernize the housing finance system, identifying guiding principles that should underlie a rebuilt system. Contributors to the volume set out a wealth of innovative solutions that are possible within this framework, presenting proposals for long-term structural reforms that would infuse new life into the U.S. housing finance system while enhancing long-term stability. Nearly a decade after the inception of the Great Recession, reform proposals have arisen across the political spectrum. This is a moment of opportunity for rebuilding a key sector of the U.S. economy. The research in this volume represents the best thinking of policy researchers and economic experts on the challenges that lie ahead and provides a roadmap for reforms to create a system characterized by liquidity, stability, access, and sustainability. Fidelis Publishing, LLC Satan's Dare: A Novel
"Satan’s Dare is different from any other Jim DeMint book, and it very well may be his most important." —Glenn Beck“Satan’s Dare is a powerful story that will confirm the faith of Christians and challenge skeptics to search for real truth." —Dr. M. G. "Pat" RobertsonThe Bible is often presented as an antiquated document filled with mysterious prophesies, unbelievable fables, and arbitrary decisions by a God whose actions range from anger and vengeance to love and forgiveness. The Bible's creation story appears to be at complete odds with more credible scientific explanations of the origins and evolution of life. And believers in Biblical truth are further challenged by haunting questions about why a good God would create a world so full of evil, pain, suffering and death. Satan's Dare takes these issues and questions head on.

Editorial Trotta, S.A. Personas cosas lugares

Boydell & Brewer Ltd Arthurian Poets: Edwin Arlington Robinson
`Traditional yet original, realistic but not in the reductive sense, he is too good to be forgotten.' ROBERTSON DAVIES Robinson's Arthurian poems, published between 1917 and 1927, won him a Pulitzer prize and yet are almost unknown today. With his introspective New England style and quiet tone, he brilliantly catches the tension between reason and passion that drives the characters of the Arthurian stories: these are modern lovers, with the philosophical and psychological concerns of the early 20th century. The sense of vision, and the feeling that the world of Arthur mirrors the fate of all mankind, binds the diverse characters together, and makes Robinson's poems essential reading for everyone interested in the Arthurian legend in the twentieth century.

Soberscove Press Marc Fischer: Deliverance: Writings on Postal Relations
"For as long as I can remember, I have depended on the U.S. Postal Service to bring new information and ideas into my world, and to help me share things with others." In 2010, Marc Fischer experienced postal trauma when he moved away from his beloved Nancy B. Jefferson Post Office on the Near West Side and became a customer of the Roberto Clemente Post Office in Chicago's Logan Square neighborhood, which was just three blocks from his apartment. "Rather than forfeit the ability to mail things close to home, I did what any normal person with access to social media would do: I kept going back there and then complained about it on the internet." Gathered together for the first time, Deliverance presents all of Fischer's Facebook post office-related posts since 2011. Part archive and part therapeutic exercise, this collection documents Fischer's committed but fraught bond with Chicago's post offices.
