Description

This photo-history of Schnellkampfgeschwader 210 and Zerstörergeschwader 1 “Wespengeschwader” in the years 1941-1944 shows for the first time in a single volume the many personalities, and the varied Messerschmitt and Junkers aircraft types flown by these units. Between the two units, they flew in more theatres of operations than any other unit. The work also contains a comprehensive loss/damage list for personnel and aircraft, drawn from the Deutsche Dienststelle records and the Quartermaster loss returns, and appendices covering reports on several combats by the actual participants, and extracts from three Flight Log books outlining the many tasks undertaken by the flying personnel of the unit. Drawing photographic content from mainly private sources, this work fills a gap in the overall documented history of the Luftwaffe in World War II.
