La industria ósea en la Hispania romana considers, for the first time in detail, the work of the bone industry in a specific province of the Roman Empire. Until now, only the material deposited in a museum, or from a specific site, has been analysed in a particular way. It is hoped, therefore, that through this work we may obtain a global and general vision of this industry in a wide territory, Hispania. In this aspect, this book shows the peculiarities found in each territory, as well as the local and regional influences and connections, and with the rest of the Empire.


The first part provides an overview of the current state of research, both nationally and internationally. From here, we focus on the Hispanic workshops and their production, and develops a simple and open classification (so that new pieces can be incorporated), offering a detailed analysis of the different objects.
