This book is a compilation of CRS reports on the Small Business Administrations (SBAs) Small Business Investment Company (SBIC). The opening report discusses the programs statistics, structure and operations. The SBAs 7(a) loan guaranty program is discussed as it is one of the most significant programs aimed at supporting small businesses. Other SBA programs are described later, some of which include disaster assistance, contracting programs and capital investment programs.
