A piece a week is a collection of short-pieces designed to support and improve sight-reading by developing note-reading skills and hand-eye coordination….Of course, as thoughtful teachers, we know that our pupils can lose their sight-reading skills when they are focusing on grade exams or other pieces, and so we find easier pieces in order to keep these skills alive. However, this saves us the bother of searching…Yet again, Mr Harris has done the work so we don’t have to.

Admirably fills a gap in the market for outstanding “quick study” material. A Piece a Week lives up to the excellent standards Paul Harris and Faber Music have previously set, and for which they are so well known. I would say that the series is a genuine “must have” for all piano teachers.
