Putting a fresh twist on the classic granny square, Sarah-Jane Hicks has created 20 fun animal-themed designs, each including a textured 3D element such as shaggy fur, frilly tentacles, or horns, beaks and wings. Squares include pets, wild animals, sea creatures and mini beasts, with designs such as a penguin, turtle, lion, sloth, pig, ladybird, dog and cat. All squares use small quantities of yarn and can be incorporated into other projects – or make the complete menagerie to create the blanket project in the book.
