is a most challenging and solid publication centering around the new 2008 Rotterdam Rules, still waiting and struggling for a sufficient number of ratifications. From a very broad historical and comparative law perspective, the author analyses the actual position of transport law and its future, taking into account the development from uni modal transport through multi modal transport as a consequence of containerization and the impact of digitalization of commercial life. Her analysis is not limited to maritime law proper but encompasses all transport modes. The author also places great interest on the European involvement in shaping regional transport law over global transport law through unification and harmonization.
