Book Synopsis“You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength” (Mark 12:30). For most of us, this directive from Jesus seems a little overwhelming. What does it look like to truly love God with ALL that we are? Is this really even possible in a culture that vies for our attention and affections from every direction?
ABSOLUTELY!
If we approach this passage of Scripture as merely another item on our spiritual “to do” list, then we are defeated before we even begin. Human zeal and determination can only carry us so far – we simply can’t transform our hearts on our own. But the good news is that the one who gives the commandment is the one who provides the power to fulfill it! He initiates. He directs. He empowers. We simply cooperate.
If you live in a state of constant frustration, wondering if God even takes your weak attempts to love Him seriously anymore, DON’T GIVE UP! Instead, let your heart be transformed by the inexhaustible love of the Bridegroom God, who is ravished with desire for you!
