Description
This book is a practical guide to incisions of the head and neck for practising and trainee surgeons.
Beginning with the basic principles of incisions and reconstruction, the following chapters describe surgical approaches for different conditions from third molar impaction, tumours and maxillofacial fractures, to cleft lip and palate, and temporomandibular joint.
The final sections cover aesthetic surgery and flaps for reconstruction of defects created by the initial surgery.
Neurovascular anatomy of the skin and underlying muscles, patient physique and Langer’s lines are discussed in depth, and the book also considers the need for future surgery such as neck dissection after open biopsy of a neck node.
