Description
Book SynopsisTrade ReviewMary Cohen's two books of Superduets for cellists provide a fun and easily accessible introduction to chamber playing. The first volume, Duets with a difference for beginner cellists, is also suitable for larger group teaching, and can be used after just a few introductory lessons on the instrument. Each piece is preceded by a 'rhythm and beat rehearsal', which encourages more fluent sight-reading and friendly questions and technical tips are clearly presented in a way which would appeal to very young children. Though this first volume sticks to open strings and a few basic notes in first position, Cohen introduces a wide range of techniques and sound effects which help spice up the pieces.
