Book Synopsis
We find ourselves in a late capitalist, postmodern and postcolonial society. Strannberg, on the other hand, is a product of something completely different... Strannberg The Chauvinist Manifesto is the preliminary complete collection of the cartoons Strannberg, which is published in the norwegian literature newspaper BLA Bokvennen Litterær Avis (the book contains all the cartoons in the period 20162024). In the series, we follow the self-absorbed author Strannberg (and his agent Don Ravioli), who travel through the thick and thin of Norwegian cultural life populated by snobbish cultural elites, socialites, critics, writers, philosophers, and the occasional visit from Karl Ove Knausgård. Samuel Nyholm (*1973, Lund) is a Swedish illustrator living in Stockholm, Sweden and Bremen, Germany. He works under the pseudonym SANY, and is a professor of illustration at the Hochschule für Künste Bremen, initiator of The Northern Drawing School, and co-founder of the design department at the University of Sulaymaniyah, Iraq. All joke drawings by Samuel Nyholm / SANYEssay by Andreas Berg (professor of illustration at the University of the Arts in Oslo)
