After studying literature at Oxford University, art in Paris and plenty of travelling, she settled in London, where she works for Usborne Publishing. She has written over a hundred children's books, from award-winning information books to fiction.

Ashe wasn't born; she grew on a bush. She lived in Paris and Lyon for a bit, before coming back to London to finish her studies at King's College - writing about music, film and politics in the meantime.

She's happiest in icy waters, on her bicycle and sleeping outside. She moonlights as a climber.
