Book Synopsis

The double bass part for Verdi''s Requiem (1874) for soprano, mezzo-soprano, tenor, bass soli, SATB choir and orchestra.

The work, which lasts around 100 minutes, contains fragments of a Requiem for Rossini that Verdi never completed. It is Verdi''s last major work before his operas ''Othello'' and ''Falstaff''. Only Mozart''s Requiem, also traditionally set to music, has achieved comparable international recognition.
