Description

We are before a book which is not a research on Reconquest and Crusades, providing new perspectives on such a highly debated and complex topic. It is rather a compilation of eight lessons and a roundtable discussion which were part of a course organized by the Medieval History department of the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, within the framework of the I&D research project Violencia religiosa en la Edad Media peninsular: guerra, discurso apologético y relato historiográfico (ss. X-XV). It is, therefore, the result of a teaching activity determined by the aim -and demand- of transfering knowledge of a project created and developed in an academic environment for the university community. In this sense, we are aware of our duty towards a society demanding knowledge not intended for specialists, and to whom we owe a particular attention.
