In January 1997, John Libbey Eurotext first published this course organised by the European Association of Gastroenterology and Endoscopy (EAGE) for young doctors and researchers, and given by the leading European specialists in the field. As well as the annual course, EAGE also wanted to hold provincial courses with a high scientific content. This is the course given by Professors Galmiche and Gournay last July in Nantes.
