Description
Obstetric vasculopathy refers to disease or disorders in the vessels occurring at the fetomaternal interface, resulting in obstetrical conditions such as preeclampsia, recurrent miscarriages, intrauterine growth retardation, recurrent stillbirths and accidental haemorrhage.
This book examines the complex and relatively unexplored area of obstetric vasculopathies. Beginning with an introduction to the subject and discussion on normal cardiovascular conditions in pregnancy, the following chapters describe the effects of obstetric vasculopathies on different organs, emphasising genetic and immunological aspects of the disease.
Clinical profile, prevention, differential diagnosis, prediction, technological assistance, such as colour Doppler and cardiotocography, and management of obstetric vasculopathies are discussed in depth.
