Sara has so much knowledge that she shares with you and gives you the techniques so that you can design your own quilts. You do need to purchase some clearview triangles but if you already have them then you are good to start. Sara even takes you through how to cut each piece and what shape it will make. This is perfect for me as I am new to quilting. Sara gives you so many tips that you soon feel confident and able to make the
different quilts. Each of Sara's instructions is accompanied by a diagram or picture. The instructions are really easy to follow and understand. The double page index of quilts gets you excited from the start. Your eyes are just filled with the amazing designs. They are just so varied and are suitable for most personalities. You are sure to find and love numerous designs. At first when you look at the designs they look scary because they are so detailed. You don't need to worry. Sara takes you through the design with diagrams so it is split into smaller sections that you can follow more easily. The designs are beautiful and stylish.They really aren't your grandmother's log cabin. They would look beautiful in any house. Sara really takes quilting to a new level.
If you quilt and are looking for something new then I really would recommend this book.

This is the 2nd edition. No less than 40 incredible projects with fast and easy cutting using a triangle ruler. The book has a ‘you can design it’ section to help you create your own designs. The book includes a good introduction with basics, fabrics, yardage, tools and block making. The book is divided into Cutting; Block Making; Quilt Projects; Borders and Finishing; Techniques; Tips; Create Your Own Design and Templates. This book contains fabulous quilts, excellent charts and diagrams and is easy to use. I would say it is not for absolute beginners. You need to follow the cutting directions at the beginning of the book. The designs show excellent colour choices and the patterns and shapes achieved are jaw-dropping. I love Dawn Star – a kaleidoscope hexagon; Masks is a clever design; Will o’ Wisp is visually stunning whilst Colorado Sunset is just knockout and the design I would have chosen for the front cover. I like all the quilts in this book.
