This book makes an important contribution in literature of diasporic and immigration studies. It is well researched, full of fascinating historical tidbits that illuminate the sociopolitical conditions that made many twentieth century Greeks migrate to the United States. The book sews together the agony of having to leave ones’ country and the constant yearning to return by telling the story of the Greek American diaspora.
