Aimed at genealogists and historians, the Italians to America series provides an extensive database of Italian immigrants who came to the U.S. between 1880 and 1915. The information was compiled from original passenger lists, which were filed by all vessels entering U.S. ports. Arranged chronologically by arrival date, they list the age, sex, and occupation of individual passengers as well as village of origin and destination when available. Volume 20 covers those who arrived during the period June 1902-October 1902. It also features an overview of Italian-U.S. migration in the introduction and an index of surnames. Glazier is director of the Temple-Balch Institute's Center for Immigration Research, and Filby is former director of the Maryland Historical Society. * Reference and Research Book News *
